A she-wolf that went by the name of Lyra stood on the border,
glancing around for other wolves.

He wasn't one to go out to strangers and talk to them, be it a
warning to get off the territory or welcoming them into the
pack. No, if they didn't come to him, he wouldn't make an effort
to talk to them, preferring to only socialize with his close
buddies. It wasn't like he was antisocial-- quite the opposite,
actually! Sprout was quite shy and anxious about talking to
wolves he didn't know well. The light brown wolf had scented the
stranger earlier and purposely avoided patrolling that area,
assuming someone else would come and welcome her into the pack
or shoo her away. But apparently no one was doing their duties.
Typical Meadow Pack. With a groan, the tawny male trudged closer
to the she-wolf and hoped she'd notice him and instigate
conversation before he was forced to.

Lyra noticed Sprout and gave a friendly smile, then wagged her
tail in greeting. "Hiya! Can I join?" She stated simply.

His stomach immediately tensed up at the sound of the stranger's
voice. He'd be sure to say something rude if he was being
himself, so he forced himself to just say, "Sure. Uh, gonna tell
me who you are?"

two young wolves, a welcoming smile on his face.

Friend? They'd barely met. Sprout gritted his teeth and gazed at
his leader with his intense green eyes. "Lyra," he stated. "She
wants to join."

"Join, 'eh?" The plump alpha chuckled. "I might as well
introduce myself, I'm Oakley, Meadow Pack's alpha. I see you've
already met Sprout."
