A she-wolf that went by the name of Turtle shyly walked into the
territory, making sure not to go too far past the border and
into the territory. She glanced around for other wolves.

Burn was in a rather crappy mood. Today he'd fought off a loner
who'd been hunting on Water Pack's territory. No big deal,
right? Well, it just so happened that the she-wolf looked
exactly like his deceased mate. That brought back several
painful memories to the black wolf. After her death, everything
had gone downhill for him. Plus, fighting with that she-wolf
today messed up his fur, and Burn just couldn't stand looking
less than flawless.
The large male trudged through the marshes, continuing on his
lone border patrol. Sh*t, another female trespasser, he thought
begrudgingly as he strode up to the pretty canine
self-consiously. "Hey, you're on Water Pack land," he called
half-heartedly, his dark gray gaze focused on the ground, only
glancing into the stranger's eyes every few seconds.

"I-I know, I was just wondering, could I join? If that's
alright..." She looked at Burn with her ears tilted back
slightly.

"Course," he said with a shrug and a half smile. "Swear your
loyalty to the pack and I'll take you to camp." He felt like he
could trust this she-wolf for some reason; tgere was no need to
be all suspicious and inquisitive. "Oh, and knowing your name
would be useful information as well," he said with a smirk.

name is Turtle."

starting to turn on his heels.

She nodded and started to walk alongside Burn, a soft smile
sketched a cross her muzzle.

They arrived at camp. "Here we are!" the beta barked, then
proceeded to walk toward the dens. "You can sleep in one of
these."
