Halland
Halland County (Swedish: Hallands län,
[ˈhǎlːan(d)s ˈlɛːn]) is a county
(län) on the western coast of Sweden.
There is also a tiny viallge in UK with the Halland name, also
the name occures elsewhere.
The word Land at the end of HalLand is obvious as a
territory/land but the prefix Hall is probably in the menaing of
a corridor/auditorium/hall.
That ship dares to have personality that others don't. For
example all others are "brainwashed" and copy each other to put
Depth charges to the back of the DD and lucnh from back. Halland
is creative and does the opposite and the submarine bombs fly
out from the front. That is very unique and requires some
adaption. If other DDs can take the best angle against the enemy
ship by showing only its nose then Halland can't do it because
those front Submarine cannons are on the way in front of the
regular bullet-cannons and guns are disabled. Such thing also
sometimes suprises but the solution is to angle your ship to
1-oclock and 4 guns become alive again.
Smoke helps to survive in a spotted difficult situation but
manuverability plus concealment helps too. Halland has both
those things fine and there is usually no threat to be under
radars for some seconds etc.
Best torpedo speed and reload and good 15km long range torps,
plus, good scouting features (good manuverability + 6.0 km
conceal) make scouting tactics very easy. It is a very big waste
if one uses such ship to go cap an easy cap. That would be like
sending a professor to do brick layers job. Mainly you go to the
middle of the map immediately and spot and send out torps and
most times those torps hit easily. Shima can do almost the same
but his 15-torpedo reload time is bigger so he can just scout
and wait little bit in the middle and then send torps and those
are not so successful as Halland's because of the swimming
speed.
Små-land is a similar EU DD to Hal-land and Smaland has
additionally radar which makes Smaland probably even better than
Halland. But Smaland is not available and it has some minor
things weaker than Halland.
Halland can use an expensive captain which makes mainly reload
times better during battles.
In a DD duel it loses to gunboats but sometimes wins them if it
has little bit more HP than the enemies.
In my opinion you can say such radical claim:
1) if gearing doesn't set a smoke for a cruiser who damages in
there the enemy ships while in the smoke then Gearing has lsot
it potentioal and the team loses.
2) similar to the Gearing, if Halland doesn't hit with 2+ torps
his spotted enemy BBs then the battle will probably be a loss
again.
Against american premium CV Roosevelt his AA is useless but
against other CVs the AA is fine.
When the MM has a CV then Halland can follow closely the other
DD to provide AA but most times other DD players are so useless
in spotting that very often the team loses a scout this way. But
i rememebr nice battles where a DD didn't start to report
Halland for following and did scouting and all that a DD should
do and survived CV attacks thanks to Halland.
There are many ways how to deal with weak and strong parts of a
subject. some athletes concentrate to weak parts/skills
boosting/training. For Halland it would mean to make weaker guns
better by increasing reload time etc. Hallands torps are so fast
that i don't chose additional captain skills to make them
faster. Some sportsmen train more their weaker parts so i
believe with DDs it is the same most times. But some ships may
benefit by making already good features to extremely good and
then realizing those featires with appropriate tactics.
I try to talk next about captain skills.
