Here is an example MM reading.
1. find the important advanced ships, i nthis MM it is an enemy
OP DD Black, enemy radar cruiser Buffalo, in alley team only
radar cruiser can do impactful moves if lucky, both alley DDs
lose any duel against enemy OP DD and therefore DDs can't split
and must duel together enemy OP DD, the radar cruiser can help
to spot him or 2 DDs can try to spot him, the whole team should
never split and concentrate in killing the OP DD.

2. obsessive 4+1 split, leads always to escape from battle,
death in 1vs2 duel, donation of the irrelevant cap.

3. Doing the MM goal: spot the enemy OP DD and kill it with the
team of 4.

1. Why this battle was won?
Because:
a) the alleied DD Yugo spawned closer to the rightmost
irrelevant easycap C than the other DD but the Yugo didnt do any
obsessive teamsplit by escaping to the easycap obsessively
letting Moga alone to duel against enemy OP DD. Most wows
commnuity would have done such careless DD split and lsot the
Moga to Black and the battle would have been a loss. But Yugo is
not a memeber of Wows commnuity, he doesn't do team splits, he
reads MM well, so he didn't escape to the easycap and wasn't
afraid to go to the main cap with the other alleid DD. but one
obsessed BB still did such obsessive ignorant move and that
resulted in 4+1 split as you see on the pictures. As always the
1 splitted ship didn't impace the battle at all, he died in 1vs2
duel and donated the irrelevant cap. Enemies got their obsessive
2 caps at the end and lsot the battle, hence the caps don't
matter, so why to obsessivele do the 4+1 splits ever, and 3+2
splits are not betetr either.
Yugo spotted enemy OP DD and that enabled the team to kill that
DD and that decided the battle outcome. That one kill made the
victory, no matter if the enemies would have got even 5 caps in
total, 1 kill is the goal, 55 caps are never a goal.
This is how you read such MM. See which enemy DD is the
strongest, in this case it is the OP DD of the whole game
nowadays, it wins any duel to any DD. Secondly see radar
cruisers, there is only 1 such in both teams. Nothing else to
see from such MM. You can also additionally see that torping is
difficult because 1 enemy BB has hydro but we stil ltorped him
as you see i nthe battle replay. also one our BB has a radar,
that can sometimes help to spot enemy DDs, but i don't see how
such info may help MM reader or battle tacticians, because it is
so slow and can't go fastly to radaring positions and it is too
risky for him to go so close to caps to radar. So, i wouldn't
read anything useful from such radar BBs, so it is nothing to
read about that i nthe MM.
How would have Wows commnutiy read that MM and done:
1. well, we can send leftmost 1 DD to the left cappo and the
rightmost goes to the right cappy, mkay.
2. half BBs to left and half others to right, should cover all
caps now, looks right.
3. oh, the one DD refuses to do a DD split, write wuickly in
chat that Get Back and Cap the C! And report him! If he starts
to tell anything against in the chat brag about putting him to
the colored list!

In Randoms the reading list is too long and the game mode
chaotic anyway. A general suggestion is that look the DDs
concealment, and assume that ones with bad concealment will die
first, or, they just don't spot anything, so you can make some
positioning based on that. I as a DD sometimes go do Babysitting
for such DDs. As a primitive ship, you cam swim to other
areas/groups in such cases. But in general in Randoms such
everything is chaotic, better just stay where you are or join a
bigger group.
All kind of surprising unexpected spotting make confusion to
enemies, in Rankeds a center map spotting away from caps work
well.
