Ranked battles
By: wows Date: June 20, 2022, 3:44 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Some suggestion for Rankeds:
1. Don't play gambler ship types. Cruisers and BBs are gamblers
plus also primtive.
2. Play CVs if you are really good on them. It means that if you
see a DD then you 90% of times can make a damage to it on your
Cv. If you miss then you are too average and better use DDs to
play. As a DD there are ca 3 CVs to use. Russian standard CV,
russian premium, Kaga premium. And i think 1 american premium.
Most worst is to play a german Cv, or Japanese.
3. If you play primitive gambler ships then chose those that has
sonar/hyfro. Musashi BB, Alaska cruiser.
4. From DDs chose gunship DDs because DDs duel in every battle.
Kitakaze for example. If you DD has good guns plus some kind of
sonar then this is the ideal one. Some premiums are such.
Better play t9 than t8 in the golden league. In other leagues
play t8.
You don't have to play for the victory. I play most times for
psychology. for exampel i follow an alley Dd and see which
mistakes he does. I play the worst ships like american t8 BB
sometimes to just enjoy the play. Sometimes you can suprise the
enemy by using a rare ship which characteristics they don't
know. For example premium Neustra DD has a very good 5.6 (?)
camo and the enemies don't know often that so you spot well and
if your team have an average aiming skill then you win.
Ships i play mostly i nthe golden league:
Kita (guns), Yugo (spotting, torps), Neustra (spotting), Oster
(long range torps), Aki (T8 guns), Kagero (T8 spotting, torps),
Loyang (T8 sonar, smoke), Kansas (T8 gambler), Amagi (T8 gambler
primitive), Z44 (spotting, torps).
I don't play other ships in the golden. Most times is use Kita
and yugo.

Suggestions to get Rank 1:
1. try to use the best tactics. The best tactics is such which
you don't see in Random Battles.
In Randoms people believe that capping is more important than
winning and go imemdiately to cap and because the whole Wows
community is brianwashed then they do such brainwashed Randoms
behaviours in Rankeds and Clans too. So, shortly, the best for
Rankeds is to avoid such Random Battles behaviours. For example:
as a DD don't go to cap but go spot from the middle or from the
cap area corners. Such example makes you win more in long run.
There are many Random Battles' behaviours in Rankeds because
people don't know other tactics. We can make another separate
lsiting which behaviours are typical in Wows community and you
should avoid them.
In conclusion, do rare positioning. Otherwise you stay forever
between Rank 10 and R2. Avoid brainwashed Wows community
tactics. The main thing is to avoid DD splitting and avoid using
guns as a DD.
The best tactics for clan and Rankeds is if the whole 7-member
team goes to one place and doesn't split. This best tactics is
not possible because teams are brainwashed. Practical suggestion
is to go where most ships go. For example if in 3-DDs MM 2 left
DDs start to swim to difficult cap area then follow them as a
3rd one and if during that the middle DD turns around to the
easy cap as a brainwashed person then follow him which results 2
DDs to the easy cap area and 1 DD to the difficult. In that case
it is also a more rare positioning and the enemies don't expect
it and such 2 DDs can kill 1 enemy DD very likely which leads to
winning. So, the main point is to try to do more rare
positioning.
2. The first suggestion was to do advanced positioning and the
second suggestion is to understand how to realize maximum from
your ship's main strenghts. For example, if you are a Japanese
torpedo DD Yugo then your strengths are: concealment (5.5km) and
fast reloading long range torps. Your weakness is guns and you
must avoid duels with other DDs because you die in duels. Main
suggestion is to swim to the middle of the map to spot the enemy
left and right ship group and land successfully 2-3 torps. Such
spotting and some torps are perfect start for the team and
sometimes even kill an enemy BB or they become afraid and turn
around. Later overspot other DDs. Here popular is to chace other
enemy dDs keeping the distance 5.9-6.4. This is the maximum you
can squiize from Yugo. From Japanese gunship DD Kita you look a
chance to duel the enemy DDs because your guns are so strong and
you win most duels. This is how you realize your ship's
potential.
If you play sonar-cruiser then obviously it is benefitial if one
goes to the difficult cap circle and makes enemy dDs visible
there. Everything else such cruiser can do is useless.
3. First suggestion was to do use advanced positioning and the
2nd was to play your ship role well. The 3rd suggestion here is
to prioritize what to shoot. Most times brainwashed gambler ship
types say and believe that they provide support for the DDs. The
reality is that as a DD in fron of the alley BBs look at the BBs
where they aim with their guns. Most times they aim elsewhere
than you and most times when the enemy spots you as a DD then
you get killed and not even a single bulelt is shot towards the
enemy DDs because the BBs and cruisers aim to wrong direction.
For BBs it is a suggestion that if you have a visible enemy
cruiser/BB visible to shoot and also you have a DD entering to a
duel in a moment then hold your fire 8-14 seconds. Just take the
enemy fire in but hold your bulelts and aim to the DDs you
support. Most times such waiting pays off and the BB can shoot
the enemy DD. This is prioritization, doing what is important.
It is very clear when the alley DD needs support. Mainly in the
beginning od the battle and later when there has been spotted an
enemy DD very close and now the alley dD is moving towards him.
In those cases BBs must stop firering and aim to the right place
and be fine to take damage in from the enemy BBs.
Capping is not a priority but killing enemy ships is.
4. You can get to the Gold league with any standard ship which
has a standard 14-skill captain for example. But use more
appropriate ships. Gambler ship types depend on others and they
have difficulties to get to Rank 1 anyway. But if one uses them
still then they should have some kind of sonar. Like Musashi and
Alaska. Premium CVs. For DDs if one uses standard DDs then they
should have 21-skill premium captain and the DD should be picked
so that a DD duel would be successful. Either a DD with good
guns or with sonar. Good guns helps to win duels and also sonar
helps if one does sonar+smoke. To get Rank 1 it is easier to use
a current best premium DDs. For example such DD that you can buy
for Research Points or for Steel. But one must also have enough
sucessful practice in such DDs. In that case the R1 is possible
but also with a standard DDs which have good 21-skill captains
can one achieve R1. For example, if one place well British DDs
then those can lead to Rank 1 quite easily. Also if one spots
well with Japanese torpedo boat then again possible to win many
times.
For DDs it is easy: chose DD which can do a duel well (good guns
or sonar), for BBs and cruisers use sonar-ships, and premium
CVs.
Test questions:
1. Describe when it is suitable for your Dd to do a Kamikaze
attack. By that attack i mean that you send torps to the enemy
BB/cruiser from the 2-3km range. When and how you do it.
Describe.
2. Describe which angles you take to outspot a DD that has
+0.3km worse concealment?
3. List 3 most popular sonar BBs and sonar DDs.
4. Describe why it is not advisable to swim to the cap B which
has an island in the middle and stay behind the island?
5. Describe why wide spread torps are msot times more benefitial
than narrow spread torps.
6. If your DD has torpedo range of 12km and the enemy BB is
swimming away from you in clock 2 direction then which distance
must the BB be for your 12km torps to hit him? Does he have to
be 12km from you, or 6km from you, or?
7. Describe how high HP DDs should realize their potential?

I completed gold league with Yugo/Kagero with torpedo reloader
and smokeless setup.
Main tactics was to go to the middle and send 4 salvos of torps
from 8-9km distance towards the enemy BB/Cr. From those 16 torps
msot times some hit and that gave an edge for the team,
sometimes it killed a gambler ship immediately. But even 1 hit
scared the enemies and they turned back etc which enabled other
DDs to cap more safely.
I really concentrated last 2 days and elliminated all
distractions to complete the league. It gave ca 70% win rate for
yesterday's 30 battles. But i don't plan to concentrate anymore.
It was jsut last 2 Ranked season days so i decided to complete
it.
The new Ranked is with T10 ships in next days. I write an
article about those here soon.
I can't use CVs because it is the most difficult ship class and
i can't aim so well with them yet. But i can use subs and Dds
pretty well, and i won't use primitive/gambler ships types of
course. So, i write which DDs to use and which tactics and
setups. For T10 it is good to have a Res Bu ship in general but
i need to reset 1 more line after 4 weeks to buy one first and
then practice with it little bit. I guess Haru is fine to get to
Gold but to complete the Gold one needs probably a Res B ship.

We can go through all maps lsited below. I guess i can draw
lines on all map pictures to show how to position.
The positioning and tactics have obvious rules:
1. assume that all Wows community is brainwashed the same way so
that they all position, split, etc exactly the same way in all
battles. Typical Random Battles mentality in other words.
Knowing that you can chose a counter tactics for that. I can
draw on all maps where to position.
2. Use any T10 ships but in the gold league take the best ship.
Usually the best ships are premium ships that you buy for Res B
points, or for Coal, Steel. Use a premium captain at 21-skills.
In my opinion signals are not so important but if you have then
equip some functional signals. If your premium captain are now
at T9 ships then move them right now to the T10 ships and that
may require retraining.

Re: Ranked battles
By: wows Date: July 13, 2022, 1:28 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Ship suggestions are relative. One cannot suggest a ship that
the other person has never played or don't like to play or don't
play very well.
For example, a french T10 premium DD is a good suggestions but
there are all 3 named factors from the previous sentence in my
case. So, i don't suggest that ship to myself but i would
suggest to others. It does not matter which historical Random
Battles rating one has with that DD. If one has get to the Gold
league before with Marceau then this is a proof that one can
play with that ship and i would suggest him to continue with
that DD choice and complete the Rank 1. There are usually 2
ships needed in case the first is still in hte battle. In that
case i would suggest something similar for that person. For
exampel a french standard DD.
If one has first Rankeds then he don't know yet which ship to
use. In that case one should just pick a ship which he likes in
Randoms.
The most complicated Dds have sonars. It requires more practice
with such ships to become effective with sonar usage. Mainly one
practices spotting an enemy DD, then setting a smoke and sonar,
and then killing the spotted enemy DD. To get a good intuition
in such technique one must practise a lot. It is much more
difficult skill than aiming with torps but much easier skill
than aiming with CVs. So, it takes time to practice such one
skill and other Dds are easier and don't require so much
practice. If one feels fine in such sonar DDs then those are a
good choice to complete gold league. Standard sonar DDs: German
DD, UK's DD, Pan-Asian DD. I repeat that one needs to have good
practice with the descibed sonar+smoke combo usage. I personalyl
don't have enough practice with the UK's DD. I can complete
silver league with the UK's DD but i can't complete the Gold.
I prefer Japanese gunboat DD. The tactics is very simple. If i
meet an enemy DD then most times i win the duel because the guns
are good. But i am not sure if i can complete a Gold league with
that boat. I will try and make chances in the process if needed.
The second DD i will use is European DD. That has quick torps
which are difficult to dodge. And the torpedo range is long and
reload also fastest from DDs so i try to hit enemy gambler ships
already on the 1st minute of the battle. Because the guns are
weak then i lose half DD duels but if i manage to avoid duels
then that might do the thing but again i am not sure.
So, i try such 2 standard DDs, Haru and Halland. Into Haru i can
put later a 21-skill premium commander when i get the needed
resources to retrain the captain. Halland already has a 21-skill
premium captain inside. I don't use any legendary modules on
them. Haru's concealment is 6.2km, and Halland has 6.0km. I
don't use any signals in Bronze and Silver.
I can buy a Res B premium DD Vampire 2 after ca 2 months so i
cannot use it in this season. But who owns any of the Res B DDs
and has experience in it then that should be a perfect choice.
I guess i will try again this time how many battles it takes for
me to complete Bronze. In the previous season it took 44 battles
to get R1 in Bronze. This is like a small challenge where you
can see your real actual today's skills. If you complete Bronze
with 44 then this is your skillset and no matter which hair
color you have or which stats you have in Randoms and which
grades you got in the primary school. If you complete with 66
battles then this is the true measure for you. For many people
it is diffiuclt to do such challenge because it is difficult to
remove all the distractions for that evening. But most people
can organize 1 such exam evening and have good but not the best
conditions to test the Bronze. It is like a test in a job
interview where your diplomas has no value. I suggest to try
such challenge or invent any similar. I haven't had a
possibility to organize more than 1 day without distractions so
i can't try to count how many battles it takes for the Silver.
But i can organize 1 evening for the Bronze usually and do the
test.
I repeat here again main reasons why to play Rankeds and not
Randoms. The main reason is that in Randoms the teams have much
lower skills. They can't even aim properly, much often they
disconnect from the battle, etc. That makes Ranked little bit
better, at least from the Silver league. The second reason is
that a smaller 6-7-member team makes play style more advanced.
And you earn some gold and steel. The negative sides in Rankeds
are much more nervous players than in Randoms. And some may find
frustrating that even in the Gold league the tactics are still
brainwashed and adobted from Randoms and the same every battle.
This is not frustrating for majority but those who have any clan
battles experience or little bit different opinions that the
community allows then those see Random Battles tactics in
Rankeds sometimes as frustrating. For example, a small team
should not split in clan battles and in Rankeds, but brainwashed
community don't understand that. I will describe recipes for
such things later and at the end of the day such small
frustrations are still fine compared to Random Battles' issues.
I will use subs if allowed but i think it won't be allowed. Both
Subs are good but better one is the one that is more suitable
for subs duels.
I don't use Cvs because it is the most difficult ship class and
i haven't learned to aim well enough yet. Who feels wel lin CVs
then of course use CVs or DDs, and not primitive gambler ship
types.
From CRs and BBs i suggest to think why do you play such ship
types first. But if you really like then sonar-ships from those
classes.
I do already from the Bronze unusual positioning. I can describe
for all maps those positions.

i completed Bronze R1 (Silver 10) on 18/07/2022-17:00 and it
took 4 days to complete.
10+11+20+26=67 battles.
I got Bronze R1 at 58 battles and completed the R1 by 67
battles.
On the previous season it took 1 day and 44 battles to get
Bronzr R1 but i didn't count anymore how much it took to
complete R1.
In my opinion this time the numbers are little bit worse (58
versus 44).
I can say that i managed to organize quite well envieonment with
almost no distractions.
The only thing was that i spilled a drink on my keyboard and
lost a battle. I changed to a new keyboard but it has much
bigger buttons so i had to learn that new keyboard little bit.
No disconnections. So, i would say that very good conditions.
I played: Halland, Haru, Shima and 1 battle with Yamoto for fun.
Mainly i went to places where the brainwashed community never
goes. Like i nthe middle or did Shadow DDs technique. I remember
in 2 battles team mates said that i should go to A1 and i went
and they reported me. That happened in the previous season as
well but only 2 times so it is good.
I can share tactics later.

Re: Ranked battles

---------------------------------------------------------
Bronze contained all kind of ships but silver has more and more
sonar DDs.
It is very difficult to progress with standard ships.
UK's DD is in my opinion not good either because it has only 3km
sonar which is not enough. Sonar should be 5-10 km. German DD
enables that (6km) ans Pan-Asian (7.5km) but Pan-Asian has
useless torps against DDs. I would say that from standard ships
the german DD is the best choice. But i am still grinding it on
Tier 8.
From Res B ships Vampire 2 is a Daring with +2km sonar range,
5km range.
Ragnar has 7.5km.
If you use just a standard japanese DD then once you meet an
enemy DD they set smoke and turn hydro on and you die.
It is possible to complete Silver with standard ships of course
but it is little bit more difficult with standard ships.
Not only you have to do rare tactics but also play the ship's
main feature very well. For example the standard Shima has best
torps amongst all ships in the game in range and quantity and
also the best concealment. In that case one must try to realize
those 2 features maximumly well. Who is brainwashed and have
brainwashed attitudes cannot ever do it because they think
already that DDs must split and lemming train is bad etc.
Therefore most Wows community members cannot take maximum from
Shima. The main suggestion is to swim with Shima right towards
enemies to spot them and send torps and ignore all caps. That is
the way to maximize the feature: concealment+torps. But that
requires a non-washed brain. For Halland it is the same as
described for Shima. For Haru torpedo load time is slow and one
cannot do such tactics. For Haru the feature are guns and so it
is best to go near cap circles to duel. A shadow DD tactics is
good for it. For Haru one should not shoot bulelts against the
enemy Cr/BB ships while psotted. Only rare cases gunship DDs
should shoot bullets while spotted.
american DD is totally useless in my opinion. The only way your
team wins with such dD if he sets smoke for cruisers and they
make damage to enemies while in msoke. If they don't agree to go
to your smoke or you won't be able to spot BBs after they go
into the smoke then Gearing's smoke becomes wasted and the ship
has left with slow torps and bad guns only. Here again one must
not be brainwashed if he tries Gearing. The smoke is not for
sonarl-less DDs themselves but for cruisers and one must not go
to cap but to a position where sonar-cruisers. That requires a
non-washed brain to do. But anyway it is very difficult to set a
successful smoke. Most times cruisers ignore it, and when they
don't then it is difficult to spot enemies later.
German Elbing has features that promote the most
primitive/beginner game style: sitting in its own smoke with no
spotting and shooting useless bullets. This is the worst Dd line
in the game. The torps are the slowest and all ships dodge them.
First suggestion is that torps should be wide and aim only BBs
because faster ships dodge the torps. One playstyle is to swim
behind the enemies and set smoke and shoot AP. Usually enemies
are spotted during that but if not then one can go out of smoke
for 10 seconds and back in. The other play style is to swim
primitive way to a cap area and set smoek and cap. But this end
with failure starting from the upper Bronze league. In Randoms
one can do such primitive things but in Ranked not. This is the
most difficult ship to play and is worst in his features.
As i said Daring has too short 3km sonar. But it has many smokes
so it can still wait the enemy DD shoot 1 bullet and then set
smoke and the enemy DD will be spotted because of that earlier
bullet for enough time to kill him while you are in smoke. But
if the enemy has smoke too and a 5-8 km sonar as premium DDs
have then you die. That's why i don't think that UK's DD is good
enough.
I still suggest Shima and Halland and do the tactics that
maximize their features (torps+concealment), and Haru to
maximize guns usage.
In summary my suggestions:
1. use a premium DD with sonar 5-10 kms
2. use a standard DD with sonar 5+ km. German DD.
3. use a standard DD that has a unique feature (best torps,
concealment) and play their features best and avoid brainwashed
tactics. Shima, Halland, Haru.
4. Some other premium DDs. For example french Marceau has the
best swimming speed and good guns.
I haven't still got 300k captain points to set a premium captain
to my Japanese Dds. But the general suggestion is that if you
play standard ships then you sohuld have a premium captain at
least from silver/Gold league.
Also i suggest not to finish Gold league too soon because you
lose the Gold on next sprints because you are not allowed to
play anymore. I challenge myself in Bronze but in Silver i
already entertain with Elbing for example.

a famous belief is that in Ranked battles one can get carried by
others to gold league.
Or, that one gets Rank 1 because of luck.
From my experience such belief is false. But peopel don't liek
to believe what others feel and see. They want to believe what
feeds their ego.
My experience is that i can do thousand battles in silver league
and not get carried to Gold. But when i concentrate on the 1st
day and the last day of the Ranked season then on those 2 days i
can do around 40+80 battles in total and i complete both Bronze
and Gold. So, if i concentrate i progress quickly in Ranked. But
if i play casually then i can stay forever in the Bronze and
nobody carries me anywhere.
Usually msot ideas that i read fro mthe official foru mare
false. But rarely sometimes some people say accidentally the
truth. One thing that i partially agree there is that you
progress in Ranked only and only if you carry your team many
battles in a row. Like, 7 victories in a row, 3 losses, and
again 7 victories. and those victories are because you make 2-3
kills there not others. I agree in a way with that idea. And
that idea also debunks the belief that one can yolo and get
carried to R1.
On the 1st day od the season i concentrate as a challenge and
the result is that i do such 7 victories with 2-3 kills in every
one.

This time you can save a star in Ranked Silver if you get Top 1
but not always, looks like sometimes TOP 1 doesn't save the star
but sometimes does.
Most difficult questions in life are the so called gray areas
where the task is to draw a line somewhere and the question is
where exactly. For example, let's assume we have to define what
is Arcade game and what is not. The task is difficult because
all computer software is classical Arcade but how much can a
software program differ from reality to be Arcade- that is the
question.
In Ranked the question is how difficult to make it. If you
remove Star savings at all then and remove all safe milestone
inside ranks then is that wise? There is no final one truth
because everything depends on goals and values. One has
different goals and his suggestions serve that his solutions and
you can't say that it is wrong or false.
I think that the current system is fine enough. Is there is star
saving every time for TOP 1 players then maybe it would be to
oeasy to complete the league. But if if the star saving is given
occasionally only for TOP 1 then it sounds fine in my opinion.
Let's say that star saving is given 50% of times to top 1
players. I think it is fine. In my opinion the whole gme system
is actually fine, nothing to change there. But the community is
not fine, and i don't know how to change that.

Ranked battles season consist of around 6 sprints that each last
ca 2 weeks.
After some hours the middle sprint number 3 ends today and
tomorrow starts the nexr 4th sprint and resetss you to the rank
10.
I suggest one such exercise that try to concentrate. And
concentrate. And i can write in another topics more how to
concentrate etc. But concentrate as you are in an exam room. And
take your time, and try to organize all distract(ions/ors) to be
off/away. And etc. And make a show of yourr skills, a Demo. Set
Windows update Off etc. And count how many battles you need to
go from Rank 10 to Rank 1. This number is the result of the
Exam. All results are fine, so don't worry, everything is good.
Just try and use the opportunity to test yourself.
I can demo how to do it in next days.
I have already demod 2 times how i do it in Bonze league and the
result is around 50 battles from 10 to 1.
Now i try it in Golden league and obviously the number is bigger
than 50.
We don't have to compare who is best and feed our ego but yes,
you are right, it is i na way Egoic, it is Egoic, and we re all
in a path to become a better humans with less ego of course. You
can keep the resulted battle vount to yourself if you feel it is
too egoical. But just take that number as a real Stats. It is
real because todays exams are real and yesterdays diplomas are a
history. And in the cult you can use that number as an argument
if they attack you.
