Destroyer conspiracy
Description: If the Destroyers on your team have died there is a
much higher probability of a loss even with minimal amounts of
ships being destroyed. The criteria is that the enemy team has
remaining destroyers with a correlated higher probability that
they will win given a higher amount of remaining destroyers. The
loss of destroyers on the team will often lead to a faster loss
since there are less tools to fight against enemy destroyers,
this is because DD vs DD engagements are the most equal, but
against other classes it is favoured for the DD. The matchups
are these:
DD vs Sub: DDs can use depth charges and are nimble enough to
dodge torpedos. The concealment of both are equal.
DD vs DD: Equal fight, luck and matchup (which dd vs which)
determines the outcome.
DD vs cruiser: Concealment difference in favour of the DD. DD
uses torps (hydro doesn't help since it doesn't last forever).
Radar won't matter since it is only active for a few seconds.
DD vs BB: Same as cruiser but guns are more devastating since
BBs have slow reload.
DD vs CV: Concealment and nimblesness favours the DD. If the DD
remained unspotted for long enough he can sneak up on the
carrier.
Rarity: Common
Rarity: Unbearable
Example: All destroyers on your team have been destroyed by one
way or another (destroyed in general). This leads to an
unfavourable matchup because all classes except DDs have uneven
matchup against DDs. Enemy teams DDs use combination of
concealment + torpedoes + guns to take key areas and push away
the opposing team. In practise this is what can be labled as
'camping' or 'running away' since the DDs are not opposed by
counterparts.
Method (ways to reproduce):
1) Select either the class cruiser, BB or CV.
2) Select a battle mode with enemy team consisting of human
players (Randoms/Rankeds/Clan-battle)
3) Play and observe what happens when one team loses all of
their destroyers.
Comments: You have to play as a cruiser, battleship or carrier
to avoid altering the test. Playing as destroyers introduces
extra noise since you can alter the results by playing in favour
/ not in favour of the team. You can also not play submarines
since they share the same matchmaking slots as destroyers and we
are not testing out what happens when all submarines dies. The
test will take much time but is easy to do, you can only monitor
games which have DDs and no submarines.
