Example of resetting a line

I post here step-by-step images of how i reset a Texh Tree line.
I comment each picture below.

r1. I have Russian Tier 10 DD Grozovoi researched and i am able
to buy it for 15'300'000 if i wanted. Important is that the tier
10 ship has been researched and you see under it the button "X2"
or "X1".
2. In the same Tech Tree view you see a message "The next
multiplier will be ... in 3 months". After every 3 months starts
a new resetting season which enables to have button "X2" instead
of "X1" when resetting a line in the beginning of the 3 months
season and only the first one resetted line gets such X2
button/bonus, the second resetted line in the season gets
ordinary "X1" multiplier.
3. The Wiki picture shows that the resetting season starts in
around May of 8th and the next one in 8 of August. So, the
resetting process is done usually on those season start dates
for 1 ship line, on 8-may, and then regrinding back the resetted
line during 3 months, and getting research points for ca 20'000.
And on 8-aug the next line is resetted and grinded back during 3
months for 20k research points, and so on. In every season it is
wise to resett only 1 line because it gets 2 times mores points
than usual. If you resett in a season the second line you get
only 10k research points and not 20k.
4. The picture shows that today is 8-may and the resetting
season of 3 months has started. Resetting 1 line gives 20k
points and shows the button "X2" instead of "X1".

Next steps.
r0. Go to the Armory and see how many Research Points do you
have now. I have 18'800.
r5. On the previous picture R1 click on the button "X2" below
the ship "Grozovoi". It shows the dialog that says you will get
20400 research points. Click Continue.
r6. Asks confirmation if you want to get 20k points and loose
that ship line. Click Yes.
r7. After the previous step you see i nthe Tech Tree that the
ship line is lost and needs to be researched again in the
future. Below the ship Nakhimov you don't see the button "x2"
anymore you only see a button "X" which means that resetting the
Nakhimov or any other next ship line gives you X1 multiplier and
10k points. Only the first resett after every 3-months season
gives X2 and therefore it is wise to resett only 1 line after
every 3 months.

r8. On the picture you see on Tier 5 ship Podvoisky having a
Research Points symbol "#" on it but ships Tier 1-4 don't have
it. Only ships Tier 5-10 earn research points in total of 20k
but Tier 1-4 don't earn research points. Select the Tier 5 ship
and on the right you see Research/Purchase info. To research all
ships Tier 1-5 it costs 11k+12k=23k Free Experience points.
Click to "Research/Purchace".
r9. To get the Tier 5 ship you pay around 23k Free Experience
points. Click Yes.

r11. Buy the ship. You don't need to research any modules and
don't need to buy any Upgrades or anything. Just buy the ship
and put a random captain in. You need to do only a few Coop
battles with that ship so it can be stock and will be deleted
soon.
r12. Enter a Coop battle.

r13. Coop battle results. It shows a battle was done on 8-may
when the 3-months long resetting season starts. It shows that 2
combat missions were completed. Mission names are "Research
points".
r14. Both completed misisons describe itself so: Win any battle
or earn 300XP. Because we won the Coop battle then we completed
the mission. 2 identical missions that each gave 200 Research
points. In total you received 400 Reseach points for playing 1
Coop battle with the Tier 5 ship. You can't earn anymore any
additional Research Points with that ship. The 400 points for 1
battle is all you get. The next battles with that ship don't
give you any Research points but you get ordinary experience
points to research the following Tier 6 ship to do 1 Coop battle
with it aswell.
r16. Battle results screen showing 353 battle experience points
and a victory in Coop. If you loose the battle in Random battles
for exampel but will receive still at least 300 battle points
then that is also enough to qualify for the 400 Research points.

r17. In the main dock screen you see getting 200+200 Research
Beurau points.
r18. In the Tect Tree you see that the Tier 5 ship has lost on
it's icon the Res Bearau symbol "#" but the following Tier 6
ship has it. The next step is to get the Tier 6 ship and do 1
Coop battle and so on until Tier 10 ship. In total you do with
Tier 5-10 ships 6 Coop battles to get all the 20k Res Bearu
points. But you also do some Random Battles with those ships
that helps you to get common experience points to research all
those resetted T5-T20 ships back. If you have previously got
many Free Experience points then you may research quickly for
example Tier 5-8 ships and you grind from Tier 8 the next ship
with ca 40 Random battles, then 40 Random battles with the T9
ship and finally 1 Coop battle with the t10 ship. Should be so.
Most people who don't have the Free Exp points can grind
typically from T5-T10. Everything will be like usual playing but
the difference is that you will receive 6 moments a reward in
Res B points. Either you do the 6 victories in coop or Random is
up to you. I think it is wise to do 6 coop battles and other ca
100 battles in Randoms.
r20. The picture r20 shows that after 1 Coop battle with the
Tier 5 ship you have 19'200 Res Points. On the picture r0 you
had 18'800 points, so you got +400 points for 1 battle in T5.
The next tier ships will reward more than 400 points and i
ntotal you will get 20k.

r21. After resetting a line and getting your first 400 points
you see that all other/next Tech Tree ship lines don't have
anymore symbol "X2", they only give you 10k points in this
3-months season.

After 1 Tier 5 Coop battle i need more 1841 exp points to
research the t6 ship Gnevny. If 1 Coop battle gives ca 300XP
then it means i need to do around 6 Coop battles to get that
1841 points and research the T6 ship. Or, i can do 2-3 Random
battles with that stock T5 ship to get that amount of exp. Or, i
can play other ships and earn Free Experience points in amount
of 1841. After i research and buy the T6 ship i delete the T5
ship. For the new T6 ship i personally research all modules and
buy all Upgrades and set a camo and signals for the ship because
it all makes easier to grind the T7 ship and if you like the T6
ship then it will be available to use with full setup. It
depends how much Free experience you earn during the grinding of
T6-T10. Some misisons can add 100k Free experience for example
in that case you can get your T7 or T8 ship very quickly.
The 20k of total income of Res Points in a 3-months season is
not enough to buy a Research Bearue ship. For example the Tier
10 premium DD Druid costs 56k Res Points. That means you have to
resett 3 lines during 9 months to get that amount of the price.
Such expensive ships gives you an advantage in the Ranked golden
League. For example if a premium Res Bureau DD meets any
standard Tech Tree DD in the beginning of the battle and they
start to duel then the standard tech tree DD looses the duel 80%
of times. Getting the Rank 1 in the golden is much easier with
such premium ship. For golden league only those standard DDs are
fine: Daring, Kleber, Haru. But even those loose most of the
times to the premium Res B DDs. Totally useless are other
standard DDs like: Shima, Gearing, russian DDs. Because in
Golden league the DD must be good at duelling in close fights
with guns. That's why i try to get 1 Res B DD. There are also
some DDs for Coal and Steel but in my opinion they loose the
duel for Res B DDs.
Because i already had around 20k res B points from varous
missions and the resetting now gives +20k so i need to resett 1
more time for the last +20k after 3 months to have 60k of points
in total to buy a premium DD.
For the clan owner there is not much point to build a clan
building for 100k Oil that gives +1% extra Res B points. Because
that +1% from 20k is 200 points which is pointless amount and
typical daily missions give easier much more than 200.

For the total beginner that topic looks weird: lot of hassle and
the outcome is some kind of 400 special points.
Well, firstly, it is not only 400 but around 20k at the end.
Secondly, if you play more difficult battles than Random Battles
then there is a need for special ships. Because, firstly, the
players all have the same skills set in the Ranked golden league
battles which makes it impossible to win with a standard ship.
for the ranked battles and i assume also for the clan battles
you need a good gunboat DD and standard Tech Tree gunboats are
weaker than premium Research Bureay DDs. Practically it is so
that if you see a MM where enemies have a Vampire 2 DD and your
team has a Gearing then 80% of times you can be sure that your
team looses that battle. Beside practical view the explanation
is that those premium DDs are better gunboats because better
guns or/and better moduls like Hydro or a crawling smoke.
Playing Haru or Shima leaves and average golden member for weeks
between ranks 9 and 2 and almost never gives the rank 1. This is
my experience and generalization.
I suggest also to imagine that the most expensive ships should
have some benefits over other ships. In the higher league
battles you have usally 5 or 7 players in your team and you
can't win there with skills because all have the same skills
also you can't win with a bad ship. Even if you put all
Legendary Upgrades to your standard ship and a special captain
then it is stil la weaker ship than a premium Res B ship.
A newcomer would ask why do you need at all to play other battle
types than Randoms? Well, after some practice one sees that
Random battles are a frustrating chaos. If you want less
frustration and stress then you play in the Ranked golden league
or clan battles. And if you want even less stress then you have
the best ship there. In this game the best ship is the most
expensive one and the Research B ships are the most difficult to
obtain so they are the best ones. The sond thing is that if you
already have 5 standard bad ships then why not to exchange them
to a good premium ship? Isn't it more fun to win more with the
best ship available?
That would be my explanation why one needs such special premium
ships.
