Do you care about your stats?
   DIR By: JoeDaFrogman
       Date: September 19, 2014, 2:00 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
If any of you have used the main WOT forums lately, you may have
seen some hubbub about WN8 rating. This is the "skill" rating
system in use currently on the PC forums and with the data
available from WG, some third party application writers have
created WN8 as a replacement for EFF and other rating systems.
WN8 is currently, the best available rating system to judge a
players skill over a large sample set. It's not perfect by any
means, but it is the best based on the data available. ie, if
certain data points that are CURRENTLY not available were made
available by WG, then someone would come up with WN9 or some
       other rating scale.
In any event, someone on the wotlabs.net site has created a
browser plugin script for specific browsers(only works on
Chrome, FireFix, Opera, and Safari....sorry, IE is a sucky
browser....) on PC's that will aggregate data on the an existing
       users stat page
  HTML http://worldoftanksxbox360edition.com/community/accounts/2787848-JoeDaFrogman/(link).<br
/> It take the information on the existing page and reformats
       it
as well as adding new content that will allow someone to view
their ranking scale for multiple rating systems: WN8, WN7, and
       EFF.
In any event, I am campaigning to get WG to release the same
API(technical term for an application developers can use to
transfer data to/from another source). As a developer, I
have created a program that can translate data and generate a
stat image using the WN8 rating system. Here is a LIVE image
       for my account.
  HTML https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/77426/WoT/WotStatsImport/sigs/2787848_recent_stats.gif<br
/> The data is accurate. The "recent" information is based upon
last Week's worth of data. This is updated roughly daily when
I download a file and run it through my application to generate
the updated stat image. It's a HUGE PITA to do the downloading
       of the file part though.
  HTML https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/77426/WoT/WotStatsImport/sigs/2787848_recent_stats.gif
The issue here is that while I can do this easily, I have to
manually go get a file EACH and EVERY day, and that would
preclude me from opening this up to multitude of others as the
same "go get file" process would have to be repeated for every
       person.
If you have any expectation of EVER having a sig image like the
above using the WN8 rating scale, then I ask you to vote
affirmative(one of the top two options) in my poll here: Vote
       for API here
  HTML http://forum.worldoftanksxbox360edition.com/index.php?/topic/52346-publish-and-document-api/page__fromsearch__1
On a side note, in addition to the image I generated, I also
currently gather and store other statistical information, some
of which might be quite surprising once an ability to "view"
into that data was available. For example, out of the 102 tanks
i currently have played, my best rating is in a JagdPanther(not
that suprising) with a WN8 of 2213 which puts me solidly in the
99 percentile of all players in that tank Even more
surprising though, was my 7th place tank was the M7 Tier V
Medium(yes, considered by many as being one of the worst tanks
in the entire game on the PC) came in at a very respectable 1842
which is in the 95 percentile.
In any event, if you have any goal of viewing your stats and
having a fair assessment of your rating vs others(and no, I
don't mean from the asshole "I am better than you" standpoint)
OR want to support others rights to have that knowledge
themselves, I urge you to take a few moments to vote for my poll
       question.
       Thank you
       Joe

Thanks Joe. I just started following that today and couldn't
figure out how to get that thing to work. Using Firefox, I was
able to get the WoTStatScript into the Greasemonkey user
scripts. Set my included pages with my WoT stat page and
nothing..... It seemed to be fairly uncomplicated, but I must
       be missing something.
But, I voted and it would be nice to have this. Like most, I
also have some big issues with the efficiency rating.

Just bumping this so as many people will see this as possible
since it was originally posted early in the day.

Thanks. For the the stat script that Orrie wrote, all you
should need to do is "install" it into greasemonkey and it
should do the rest. I don't have firefox(on chrome), so i am
not quite sure of the process, but in chrome, I clicked the link
to the script and it asked if I wanted to install, I clicked yes
       and it just worked.

Out and about but will check out on pic when I get home.
Went onto Wot site and voted "He'll Yeah"
Will be a nice addition if WG release the API.
       Good work Joe :smileplain:

Thanks, We need to drive as much traffic to the voting as
possible. I know not everyone reads the main forums, or
perhaps not even here frequently, so If anyone feels lead to
encourage others to vote in party chat, it would be greatly
       appreciated.

Been following your campaign on the main forums Joe. Nice work!
Is there anything else (besides the voting) we can do to help?
PM anybody, post in a thread etc...

Voted Yes but not at the expense of new content.
More details and individual tank ratings would be cool, would
love to see assists listed and counted towards ratings.

Do you get historical data? I'm not that interested in
comparing to others, but what I would like to see is whether I
am improving as a tanker - kinda like a daily stock ticker.
