Hey bro i hear what you saying i love platooning with offers
when i can as a family man myself its hard to platoon up
sometimes when the kids are with me thats why if some of you see
me playing solo and you invite me to a party i may not always be
able to join up so hope you dont take offence to it :ammo: but i
normally do join random O.F.F platoons from time to time as i
hate hate playing solo too many fail teams going around and it
seems like it`s getting worse lol

A thought just occurred to me: are random players getting worse,
or are we just getting better?

I do believe that's the case. As we improve in the game, we are
increasingly let down by teammates who commit the crimes against
good tanking we no longer do.

It's hard to say. I know I have the occasional game where I go
all beast mode and shit and just lay waste to anything that
moves. Then there are the games that I try to play it safe and
get my arse handed to me on a platter with a thank you card. All
in all, according to my wife that is, my tanking has vastly
improved and I'm playing a lot better than even when I first
joined the OFF. I have had a couple of green guys step up and
save my ass, to which they got a big thank you from me and we
continued on. Then you have moments like I did yesterday in my
T29, if it had gone bad for me, of course I would have been mad,
but I was pumped after this. I was on Himmelsdorf, facing the
castle I we spawned on the left side. I cruised up to the top as
fast as I could with a tier VII medium, not sure which one. He
went around the castle and I stayed on the road. Two TDs came up
from their side, I shot one, looked at the mini-map and saw the
medium was gone and tanks were coming for me. I turned to go
and meet them, and we met about half way around the castle, a
Churchill VII, I locked and fired and almost killed him, he back
pedaled as fast as he could before I reloaded. I was just about
to put the finishing shot in him when a KV-1S shot me in the
side but his round bounced. I turned to him and charged, he was
backing into the wall, I shot and then rammed him, he was gone.
I reloaded, turned to my left, locked onto another tank, shot
and killed him. Then as I'm reloading I remembered that I left
that Churchill VII back there and turned my turret to my rear,
backed up, shot and took him out. I finished backing up, turned
to head down to the OpFor cap and saw a VK, shot and killed him
too. Then this voice blares over my head set, "Holy shit that
was bad ass!!! You went off like a mad man killing those guys,
we watched the whole thing!" Yes, this guy and two other tankers
sat there watching to see if either killed them of died... Like
I said, at first I was pissed, then I realized how awesome that
was and just moved on as a happy mad man. Long answer to your
question, but had to share that one, I wish we could record
matches.

Direct Hit on that one flip!
Since I started really learning about this game and studying it
more closely (after about 3,000 matches of just whatever), I
believe my game has been improving. I watch my stats and I have
significantly improved my k/d and damage stats drastically over
the past couple of months. Joining OFF and adding the benefits
of being in this group on top of that has just helped that much
more. I find now more times than not I am usually in the top 3
of my team for most matches. But the downside is that when you
are on a fail team it pisses you off just that much more, I
can't stand looking at the score 3 minutes into a match and
seeing us getting wiped out while the group I'm with are holding
our own or driving through the reds on the flank we went down.
I hate getting shot in the butt because I held off the reds but
they broke through on the other flank and now I'm fighting a
losing battle and 5 minutes haven't even passed in the match.
BTW this happens mostly when I'm lone wolfing, if I'm platooned
up with fellow OFFers things tend to have a different outcome,
just saying.

NICE! Love games like that -- and had one this weekend. Short
version:
Had a standard battle on Erlenberg, me in my Matilda in a tier V
match. We spawned on the west, so I stayed by the castle
watching the cap and the north flank. Laid waste to four reds
trying to flank around our sides. Wound up just me and a green
VK30 with about 20% health left, vs. arty, a TD, and KV-1 at
around 50% health. The VK went east and took out the arty and
then rammed killed the TD, which left him about 10 hp left. The
KV-1 had been on the southern side, so the VK went for their
cap.
I start to move toward ours once the KV-1 took out the VK. I got
close to the center bridge, protecting my flank via a building
and waiting for the KV-1 to come across the bridge. Sure enough,
he does and I just start pumping shots into him as he misses --
twice. Wind up killing him with about 60 HP left myself to get
the win.
:gunning:
It was one of FOUR times yesterday I was one kill short of a Top
Gun. Also in my Nashorn (twice) and SU-85.
:1foryou:
As far as platooning goes, I really do prefer it. But, every
once in a while, I do lone wolf (esp. on Sundays, which are
laundry days) so I can grind silver and certain tanks more
rapidly.
