Where we are at: A RECAP OF THE PAST WEEK

This thread is NOT designed to beat horses that are well-past
dead. (And the horse is, in fact, dead. It is an ex-horse. It
has ceased to be. It is no more...) This is simply a thread to
share the facts as they are currently known in an attempt to
prevent rumors.
WARNING: MASSIVE WALL OF TEXT AHEAD!
Issue #1:
A few days ago, Cheesie Burrito posted in a thread about
tactics.
Robertthered then posted a very pointed comment at Cheesie about
getting an invite to join the Iron Horseman. While Cheesie did,
in fact, get such an invite, he had declined it, as he was
clearly still dedicated to OFF up to that point.
Robert and Cheesie exchanged a few barbs, at which point Antacid
removed those comments to keep the thread on topic. This was a
decision the BoD agrees was a good one, as have Cheesie and
Robert. The attack by Robert was uncalled for, and he has
admitted as much. There was nothing nefarious about it, and no
one was trying to hide anything or make anyone look bad.
At that point, a few members assumed—incorrectly—that Robert was
going to be given a pass for his comment, whereas Cheesie
would've been booted from the clan had he done it.
This is not the case!!
The BoD followed the exact same procedures that it did when
Cheesie started some drama several weeks prior, and that we have
ever since. We have these procedures and "Stages of Discipline"
(so to type--not sure what else to call them!) just for that
reason: to ensure that EVERYONE in this clan, from Founder to
the most recent member, is held to the same standard. If
anything, leadership should be held to a higher standard, IMHO.
UPDATE: There was some confusion on my part about this part of
things. Robert has not yet received his written warning, but
will this evening. (And thanks to OldFatBaldDude for his work to
ensure all procedures are being followed correctly and to the
letter, no matter whom is involved. Also thanks to him for
correcting me on this front so I could correct this post. Dude's
a mensch. :thumb: )
Because of this blowup and associated issues, the following
members have left the clan (although I will welcome them back,
if they choose to return, and they will stay on my friends list
regardless): Cheesie Burrito, BGunter, FireMedic, Phunk Pilot.
There might be more, but those are the ones I know of for sure.
It saddens me, as they were all fantastic players and good
people.
Issue #2
There have been some past decisions/incidents that still hang
over this clan today. Primarily, with Antacid still being on the
board.
A few things to note about this (and this all sounds as if I'm
defending her, but I'm not—I am just stating facts):
1. If we had access to a TARDIS, we could all go back in time
and do tons of things a lot differently. Sadly, we don't. We
can't change what has happened. We can only learn from our
mistakes so we (hopefully) don't repeat them.
2. We must acknowledge that there is a difference between a
mistake and something intentional. How Antacid handled
Tinkabeast was a mistake—as she has acknowledged time and again.
On the flip side, Robert's shot at Cheesie was intentional, as
he has admitted. We must keep this distinction in mind, as there
was nothing malicious on her part.
3. The BoD is making changes to ensure no one person has so much
"power" (for lack of a better term; it's not like we got nuclear
launch codes over here!). Roles and responsibilities are being
altered, and there will be a weekly update of what the board is
doing. (More on that in another thread.)
These changes are moving us in the right direction and,
hopefully, are enough for most, if not all, of our current
members. Past f**k ups are in the past, and we are making
changes that WILL correct some of the issues members have raised
about control by the few. Please believe us on this: we're
fixing it and are wholly open to input on how to make it even
better! So please share your thoughts in the suggestion thread!

Issue #3: A personal note from TKE919
I sincerely hope that this is all good enough for a vast
majority of members, because ... well, each player leaving the
clan saddens me. Honestly. It truly does. Deeply.
Maybe I'm just too in touch with my feminine side (possibly
:girl: ) or too damn co-dependent (certainly :wink: ) but I
have become emotionally invested in this group. I've had too
much fun, killed too many reds, and made too many real-life
friendships to watch this damn thing die.
Not. Gonna. Happen. :charge:
Will we have some drama in the future? Oh most certainly!
Why? Because we're humans.
What will we do about it? Confront it directly and fix the
underlying problem whenever we can.
How can we change it? By ALL OF US working together to make this
clan the best it can be, and by all of us choosing to not act
like assholes. (Except for you, Frivolous Comic—we understand
that's just who you are. :poke: :tongue: :grin: )
Hope this fills folks in adequately.
And sorry for the thesis. (And, yes, I type fast. About 90+
words a minute. :nerd: )

TKE919 thank you very much for this post. I've seen that there
was drama, but did not know the whole facts behind it, so I just
stayed out of it. Knowing this, I now feel even better about
this Clan. My personal philosophy is that if you make a
mistake, own up to it, which I think the BoD has done. Very
good job, and once again thank you to you and the rest of the
BoD.

Thank you TKE,
Fantastic post as usual and a very concise (well, maybe not THAT
concise :troll:) statement of the situation. I dunno if it makes
any true difference but being aware of the situation does give
me some clarity as to what is going on overall with the clan,
which I appreciate.

Well done TKE, and I bet you thought that being on the BOD was a
kick back and sip Margaritas while some poor member washed and
waxed your TOG... :worship: Sorry it has not been quite so
glamorous, and thanks to everyone on the BOD for sticking
through the mud and mire... :medal:
We will get stronger by open honesty and the acceptance that we
are different which is why platooning is fun, we grow strong by
being a WE and not a me.. me... me....!! :wink:

We are all here for the same reason which is to build a
strongclan and KILL REDS :gunning: :charge:
To err is human, to forgive divine less the OFF angel comes to

Thanks for the kind words, folks. Should note that Oxidative
helped a bit and Corbantis is my new editor. (The pay suck,
however, so keep that in mind.)

These are all good folks, that like killing Reds.
I platooned with all of them...
