1. In any group of people there are always going to be "grown
ups" who do not act like adults, will never act like adults, and
do not know they are not adults.
2. There will always be people who do not get along with each
other. Nothing wrong with that. People are different and
prefer different company. Deal with it.
3. Lets get rid of the attitude that cliques are bad, and
everybody should play with everybody else. That's just not
human nature. Find some members you enjoy the company of, and
play with them every day if you want to.
4. If you feel rejected or unwanted, then start sending FR's to
new people and find your own clique. It's up to YOU. Do what
you need to do to find people you enjoy playing with, and don't
worry about anybody else.
5. If somebody offends you, take them off your Friends list, and
find a new friend. You don't need to complain and gripe and be
all offended. Just don't associate with that person anymore.
It's not the job of this forum or the BoD to be your mediator.
Deal with it yourself.
6. Get rid of the "I platooned with..." thread. There should
not be a contest over who platoons with the most different
people. If I want to platoon with the same 2 people every day I
will. It's no one else's business.
7. This forum is a place to meet people and discuss WoT. Take
your emotional needs somewhere else.
8. The BoD should limit themselves to the business of the Forum,
not the business of the Members.

TKE posted this in chat box, TKE919
HTML http://wotoff.createaforum.com/index.php?action=profile;u=48<br
/>says: I can assure everyone that things ARE being addressed.
But
also note we can't fix anything if you guys and gals won't tell
us what you think is wrong. Please send me or another BoD member
a PM before choosing to leave. To some extent I agree with you
hommie. Look, we all know, whether we want to admit it or not
that there are and have been people in this clan that mainly
stirred shit up regularly, I know it, you all know it. There is
nothing broke in this clan. People are going to leave for a
multitude of reasons, too many for me to list. What are people
worried about? You all know that if the Clan Wars come, it won't
be for a very long time, so lose that fear and concern. We have
plenty of good tankers here that are dedicated to the O.F. & F.
clan. Quit sweating the small shit and quit making mountains out
of mole hills. If your reading this and the other posts in this
thread and think to yourself "I just want to quit", answer this
for me; do you: A. Want to join another clan? B. Think this clan
needs to be run different? C. Think you could do a better job
running it. Well, here are my answers to those for (and this is
not official, just my opinion) A. Leave. B. Too bad. C. Start
your own and prove it. You all joined this group of you own
volition and whether there is a BoD and Staff or not has no
effect on you or your ability to game, quit being little bitches
and get over it already. It's not like we pay them a salary or
anything, you don't have to pay dues to be apart of this, and no
one is making you follow any rules you shouldn't already follow.
Since I have joined, the only thing different for me is now have
almost 70 people to platoon with at any given time, I have
people to share ideas and strategies with on the game, and I
have a place to come and talk about the game. I've said all that
I feel I need to say other than this, GROW THE FUCK UP!!! and I
reprimand myself for this post.

Can I just say I would prefer if people did not post saying they
heard this or that. If anyone has something specific they want
raised then PM a BOD.
I expect the BOD to make some statement on recent events. I
would prefer they took the time to gather all relevant facts
rather than rush out a comment. If anyone is not happy with
what is said by the BOD or has more questions then post them in
that thread.
It did and does appear to me there are cliques in the clan but
as I said before the only way to prevent cliques in a group is
to limit it to two people. But then again where do cliques start
and guys who just like each other's company start?
My feeling is it becomes a problem if cliques are insular, they
can stunt clan growth if new people are left outside. I am still
relatively new here, so I am asking the question, is that the
problem some people just want the original set up a, smallish
close knit group of people who enjoy each other company, versus
those who want a bigger, more "professional" (for want of a
better word ) and therefore structured clan?
Is there a holy grail of clans that does not have the occasional
drama?
If I had one criticism of the current set up it would be a lack
of some level of training or help workshop.
Just my thoughts on the matter.
HAPPY TANKING

Here is my response, and represents my opinion. Take it for
what its worth......
What do you want from OFF???????
Any Clan needs to have some structure in place. Is our current
structure the best, well that could be up for discussion. If
you look at any of the other Xbox clans you need to have someone
or some group setting the general direction, with their
structure set up accordingly. If all anyone wants from OFF is a
forum, then we don't need leadership. If people want more, then
yes we do. In the past, we have had greeters and trainers, when
we were actively doing these things, but with the freezing of
membership, then this is less of an issue.
Unfortunately, as we have found, there are going to be flame
ups, unintentional or intentional. It happens in any group of
people, from a group of two best friends to a group of 200
gamers. If there are not any personality issues or other
flame-ups, then I spend a few hours a week keeping up with day
to day tasks. When shit hits the fan then a lot more. Antacid
spends quite a bit of time on the forum with her administrative
duties. We spend time on the promotion lists, code of conduct,
events and contests, general board maintenance, general
strategic planning, and debating ways to improve and streamline
the structure, among other things. Corbantis spends hours
painting figurines to trade for codes for running OFF contests.
We have a bunch of new stuff on the horizon, and haven't been,
as TKE919 would say, good publicists. We have a slate of new
contests for October as well as a new complementary interactive
web page which can be used for map strategy and matchmaking.
We are all committed to make this an enjoyable group. I have
been doing this thing for a while now (>8 months), had a chance
to leave with the IHM, and most of the guys I platooned with,
and chose to stick it out because I believed in what this group
stood for. I would like to say that we have had a few sour
apples throwing monkey wrenches in the mix, but that wouldn't be
totally fair, but a lot of what has been transpiring is
personality driven.
In closing, what is it that you want from OFF??? That will
dictate the structure.........

Preachingnut the e-mail about cliques is what started the
arguments that some had with Cernig10. It was the fuel that
started the fire. Tinkabeast getting kicked added gasoline to a
fire that was starting to die down.

I'm going to have a few new threads to address several of these
issues here this a.m. (well, a.m. where I'm at -- not applicable
in all areas  ).
The tl;dr version (with nifty text effects!):
1. [glow=red,2,300]Where We Are At As A Clan[/glow] --
Basically, what's happened in the past week, as everyone
deserves to know and rumors are a bunch of crap. There will be
no attacks or accusations; just the facts, ma'ams and sirs. Note
that it might be the last thread I do, as I want to ensure
everything is accurate and the parties involved are contacted,
as some won't be here to read the thread and ... well, they
deserve that respect. :salute:
2. [glow=red,2,300]What We Are Doing[/glow]-- Things the BoD
have been discussing and/or dealing with. NOTE THAT THIS WILL BE
A WEEKLY FEATURE MOVING FORWARD, as transparency is now my
personal crusade. We have some great ideas on how to make things
fun again. (Trust me on this -- I KNOW FUN, DAMMIT!!! :shades:
)
3. [glow=red,2,300]Where We Want to Go[/glow] -- THIS CLAN
BELONGS TO ALL OF US!! It's not the BoD's or the staff's or even
the founders'. IT. IS. OURS. And it will become whatever we
choose to make of it. Now, will everyone get their way? Ummm ...
no. No they will not. But we can do our best to
accommodate the most.
So, yeah. My morning is plum booked. Keep an eye out ...
:charge: :thumb:

Ox, very eloquently put. What does everyone want from OFF? I've
looked at like this and maybe other people should too; this clan
was started by people other than myself and they have allowed me
to drink from their Kool-Aid and for that I am grateful. I think
people get too absorbed and forget somethings like, this clan
wasn't started to cater to your every need or to be your
babysitter. If you have an issue with someone, take it up with
them. As Ox outlined with the contests and all the admin work
the BoD has to do, we as members should be able to at the very
least handle our own conflicts and avoid all the he said she
said malarkey...shouldn't we? I for one say the clan is fine as
is and the problems lie with the individuals not the BoD or the
staff.

First, let me clarify about the "clique email"...
I had recieved several messages from newer members about how
they could not find people to play with. I was not saying you
cannot play with the members you like to play with, it was a
request to not play EXCLUSIVELY with those members. Everyone was
hyped on clan wars and a cluster of exclusive cliques would not
do as well as a group that has all played together. It seems
that I must have worded thing badly as no one got this message
from my email. As for the most recent events see my shoutbox
entry.

You know what? That's exactly what I did when I joined, and
funny, it's exactly what I do now. I sign in to Xbox, join a
platoon, shoot things, occasionally drown, laugh sometimes. I
post on the forum too and learn tactics from more experienced
people. I see some things happen and people leave and think Oh
well, your loss, seeya on the field.
I guess I'm just not interested in all the other stuff and don't
think you have to be. Am I wrong?
