What??? Nobody from the KISS ARMY has chimed in.... Love my
rock(Zepplin,Iron Maiden, Slipknot), but the best concert I saw
was in 1988, Shreveport LA, Hank Williams Jr... Took my
girlfriend, now wife, to see Hank cause she liked country
music... I did not know Hank or his music at all; fully expected
banjos and fiddles... I was blown away!!! Guy in a trench coat
and big ol top hat, standing on a 30 ft. stack of Marshall amps
starting cranking out "You Really Got Me" like he was Eddie Van
Halen...

What do you guys listen to? Older gang here so interested to
hear if anyone listens to what I do.
I'll start. My gamertag comes from an online streaming music
station by the same name that plays electro industrial music. I
have listened to that style of music since high school starting
with Skinny Puppy. I listened to classic new wave music/goth
etc... The Cure, Depeche Mode, Smiths etc... My music tastes
have expanded in recent years.
Talk about a blast from the past. My "cramming for
exams" tunes during my first year at University. Thanks for the
flashback! :peace:

I've followed Beck throughout the years. Kinda cool that he is
still doing 20 years later.

Faethor, I also loved Bauhaus and Peter Murphy. He has a
fantastic voice. I really liked some of his solo stuff. Cuts You
Up and Indigo Eyes. Of course Bela Lugosi's Dead is one of the
greatest songs of the 80s. Have you seen the movie called the
Hunger with David Bowie? Bauhaus performs that song in a cage in
movie. It's pretty cool.
Was a big Cure and Bauhaus fan in the 80's. I used to frequent a
great club in Sheffield called 'The Limit' where they played
everything of that ilk in a dark, low ceilinged, smokey
atmosphere. It was great. Also in Sheffield was another
legendary club called 'The Leadmill'. This played similar stuff,
but more student-oriented. Excellent nights in there too.
For my current playlist, see this topic...

Sorry I should have searched. I wasn't aware there was already a
thread on this. Cool stuff in there and the responses on here.
Antacid, you were a Skinny Puppy fan? Not too many of us around
to be honest.

NP, sometimes these threads get buried in the morass of the
forums...... Thanks Greyza for digging it up, I was going to
link but had trouble finding it. :amazed:

This isn't the same as the last post about music, the last one I
remember was what you listen to while you game or whats on your
phone or something like that. I have a wide range of music I
like and still listen to, some groups I may only like a couple
of songs or so, but I'm very particular about what music makes
its way to my phone. Right now i have the following that I still
listen to:
Anthrax, Butthole Surfers, Beethoven, Metallica, Mega Deth,
Death Angel, Willie Nelson, Johnnie Cash, Waylon Jennings,
Slayer, Heart, Scorpions, Ministry, Skatenigs, Skinny Puppy,
Front 242, Morbid Angel, Deicide, Amon Amarth, Five Finger Death
Punch, White Zombie/Rob Zombie, Butcher Babies, Testament,
Cypress Hill, Avenged 7 fold, SPM, Aaliyah, Motorhead, Master P,
System of a down, Afroman, Sepultura, The Reverend Horton Heat,
Social Distortion, Slip Knot, The Cramps, DMX, Xzibit, The
Hellbillys, Limp Bizkit, Dead Kennedys, Frank Sinatra, Godsmack,
Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., The Misfits, Mudvayne, Dr. Dre,
Snoop, Cee Lo Green, Faster Pussycat, Rick Ross, Terror Squad,
Eminem, Prong, Static-X, Chamillionaire, Mike Ness, Tool, A
Perfect Circle, Stray Cats, Eric Clapton, Steve Vai, Yngwie
Malmsteen, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Joe Satriani, Pantera, Judas
Priest, Nuclear Assault, Death, Danzig, Iron Maiden, Helloween,
Kind Diamond, Hatebreed, Killswitch Engaged, Tchaikovsky,
Johannes Brahms. That's all that's coming to mind right now.
I'll have to think of some of my favorites songs and post
videos.

You name it, I probably have it on my iPod, computer, or 20 DVDs
of MP3s.
I primarily listen to heavy metal (whether new stuff like Five
Finger Death Punch or Volbeat, or old school Tool, Anthrax,
Metallica, Pantera, and Slayer) ... but also love jazz (Miles
Davis and Charlie Parker are two faves) ... old-school blues
(John Lee Hooker) ... roadhouse blues (which I play on drums --
so could been Stevie Ray Vaughan's drummer!) ... newer blues
(Black Keys, Royal Blood) ... old-school rock (Hendrix, Stones)
... jam bands (followed the Grateful Dead for three summers,
though not a big Phish fan) ... alt rock (Jane's Addiction,
Violent Femmes, Toad the Wet Sprocket, They Might Be Giants) ...
mash ups (The Kleptones are AMAZING...and just one dude, but
still awesome) ... electronica (really enjoying Thievery
Corporation and Zero 7 right now; also The Crystal Method and
Chemical Brothers when I wanna be more hardcore) ... rap (love
me some Tech N9ne, Eminem, De La Soul, and Tribe Called Quest)
... and hell, even mellow stuff (Norah Jones, Coldplay, Jimmy
Buffet) and classical (J.S. Bach being my fave, and Mozart's
piano concertos are just beautiful).
So, yeah -- having played quite a bit of music myself, I have
really, really, really diverse tastes.

Their new one is just awesome. Love how they create an entire
feel and atmosphere for their albums. (Lebanese Blonde is one of
my fave songs ever.)
And the song The Forgotten People is IDEAL for Sand River.
Seriously -- check it out and imagine playing it while cruising
in a medium or light. It's. Perfect.
