See, that is my whole premise in your first sentence, "singled
out for whatever reason". No, someone posted something on a
forum... They put their thoughts out to the public/forum...
Forum members decide... Hit or Bounce... How is that even
close to an attack on the posters ego???

I think you missed the point with the suicidal statement, i'm
pretty sure that a bounce vote wouldn't drive somebody to that
extreme !!
The statement was around my volunteer work and that what we see
as a nothing action, others in a more fragile state might not ..
it's what i have experienced during my sessions i have had with
them. But least i can understand why you might have
misunderstood the comment.
maybe a way forward then would be a compromise on the ability to
bounce or not .. say a limit you can bounce per day or increase
the time limit.
we're not going to agree on everything, although i won't bounce
you this time ;-) .. but we can agree on killing reds, not an
issue with that!!

I voted no on keeping it because nothing productive can come
from it. I'm sure we have trolls in this clan, group, whatever
the hell you want to call us, but it's just another thing taking
up space as I see it.

I can see what you mean on the bullying view.
When you are down and out and seems like your whole world is
collapsing, it is easy to view something as simple as hit or
miss as more negativity in your life. This would not be
considered the grenade or the explosion, but to a person seeking
a string to grasp, it could very well be the shrapnel.
You see it alot on the main WoT boards where the hierarchy there
decide that they do not like someone, they down vote just about
every post from that person. Just because of it being that
person. I am not saying that would or will happen in our forums,
but I do see it on the WG WoT boards.

I understand it wasn't about me.
My point is we are adults. As adults we should be able to
handle someone's differing opinion without taking it personal.
In my opinion this whole thread is making a mountain out of a
mole hill.

This system was not intended to be a popularity contest. Had
there been a +only option it would be here instead.
The only member that I am aware of getting mass downvoting here
was actually showing pride in it and was actively goading the
rest of the membership to do so.
If you express a view here and people do not agree with you its
not the end of the world.

Which leads me back to my original point...
If someone was in such a fragile state of mind, how would we
know?
Are we supposed to isolate ourselves from anything that MIGHT
impune the most insecure egos?
How the heck is that even close to real life?
The WoT forums are pretty tame compared to others out there,
just sayin'...
But here is the thing.... Anyone can post anything with in the
forum rules...
If it bugs someone that they have neg votes, I suggest they stop
reading that line! Pretty simple really... If you don't want
feedback, then why post????
