Direct Hit! That One Bounced OFF

So, why do we have this enabled on the forum ?
I've been involved in many groups / clans in the past and having
this option within a forum has always been a contentious issue
.. why have it.
if you like a post and find it helpful, then post on the thread
stating that
if you don't like it say the same .. but least give a reason
Having Direct Hit! That One Bounced OFF enabled is a cowards way
to enter a debate and seeing that some members have -80 points,
to me it has no credibility and should be disabled.
therefore i like to ask members their thoughts

I have posted a number of times on the WG forums that you should
have to post a comment before you can negvote. I still believe
that.
I didn't think it would be an issue here. Now I am on a fence
about it in the clan forum. Can't decide if it's good or bad. If
members feel someone is being an asshole, detrimental to the
clan, by posting threads then there should be a way let them
know. If everyone starts responding by posting attacks to
perceived negative or disruptive threads it will just start a
flame war and not do anyone any good either.
I think on balance I would keep it for a month or so.
I have not deliberately negvoted anyone yet and not sure if I
have upvoted either. I say deliberately because I didn't know
the function was there, I thought it a slogan , it's possible I
voted because I use a touchscreen and am left handed so use the
left side to scroll.

I have to say that personally I take no notice of it at all. I
think the old forums 'like' system was better. I would like
something in a thread that perhaps echoed my thoughts when there
was nothing I felt I could add by posting. I think this system
was enabled in order to do something similar but it appears not
to really work that way. I'm also interested to hear members
views. I believe it's straightforward to remove if that's what
people want.

When this new forum was started, we had this function enabled
for a while but removed it. Some members wondered why we did
this, I can't remember who they were, and it was reinstated. If
people do not want this, it can be removed. I am unsure if
there is a "like only" function.
In its defense, that person was literally asking for down votes
in the shout box.

On the WoT forums, the +/- is on the post it's self. You can
atleast see what post you had that was "at issue" for either
down votes or up votes.

It would be nice if it was like Facepoop where you can see who
gave you a direct hit and who gave you a that one bounced. They
may just not have anything worth saying on the subject, not
everyone is as opinionated as I am and think that everyone wants
to know what I'm thinking.

given i have go 2 negative feedback since posting this goes to
show 2 things.
It's being used as a forerunner to bullying and trying to make
people feel uncomfortable
somebody is a coward

I dont think cowardice plays any part. People either decide to
like a post or dislike a post. How the recipient chooses to
interpret this is entirely up to them. For the record I do feel
its largely unhelpful and would be better off being removed.
