T32...why can't we just get along?

I've previously referred to the T32 grind as "donkey work" even
with it fully upgraded.
I thought I'd give it a chance though and have persevered
through a few battles with it, and here are the results...
T32 41 battles 54% victories 3rd Class
Kill/Death Ratio 0.96
Damage Caused/Received 0.88
Average Number of Vehicles Destroyed per Battle 0.59
Average Damage Caused per Battle 979
Destroyed Vehicles 24
Experience 25,486
Maximum Experience per Battle 1,221
Hit Ratio 73%
Damage Caused 40,131
...as you can see, I'm not exactly pulling up any trees with
this thing.
I'm playing it pretty much like my T29, hull down, mantlet to
guy shooting you etc.
The problem is that I feel pretty impotent in this thing, even
against tanks in its own tier.
In T9 and T10 matches, I'm pretty useless and die quickly.
I often find that I can't get in a position to do any damage to
the big boys in the playground, get permatracked and it's just a
matter of time before I'm just a spectator.
Ever now and again I get a half decent game, but they are way
fewer than with any other tank. Also, I'm bleedng silver with
this hunk o' junk.
Any tips?

I learned this very late, and actually learned it more when I
got into German "auto-loader" TD line.
This tank is all about optimizing the great gun depression while
hiding the lower glacis and sides. Just about every map has a
place that you can go up a hill, peek over, and just show your
turret. Often you are looking down on vehicles whose turret
limitations mean they cannot hit you.
These hull down/incline positions can cause all kinds of issues
(the caveat is that damn arty that can ruin this plan).
In my opinion, despite wanting more, this tank is a support
vehicle that can really clean-up after the initial fray, it is
not the "lead the charge guy" ever. That said, if you can stay
clear of arty, then find a hill...go up it....poke your head
over....push that gun barrel down and smack people (oh yea, it
is the t-32, watch your shells bounce :troll:).
This is actually good training because the M103 plays the same,
using speed over power even though you won't have that amazing
gun depression.

I agree... Best think about the T32 is that it leads to the
M103.

Yeah, the M103 and E5 are both great, but play alot different
than the 29 or the 32 however.

Does gun depression work better over the front or the sides, or
doesn't it matter?

I believe you can angle your tank and still get full gun
depression on the T-32, but I can't remember. Always angle
yourself if you can so that if an enemy tank does drive over
that hill, you are in a good spot to defend..
Also, realize that you will probably attract a scout or medium
to flank you if you get in a real good position.
One thing I forgot as well is that the T-32 is great at close
quarters. If you are in a 1v1 fight, hug the enemy, especially
heavies, your depression will put shots right into them and the
t-32 seems to have amazing armor when hugging!
I think the biggest thing in this tank is forget that the T-29
came before it, they are not even related, brothers of another
mother.

Not only that, its turret is so troll-like, that at close
quarters with something like a Tiger II, with a higher profile,
they will end up having to shoot the turret most of the time
because of the crappy gun depression.

Yeah I'm in the same boat with this tank. I have my bad and
really bad days with it, a few good games every now and them
sprinkled in, I'm more than halfway to the M103 I just can't
seem to get the hang of this tank hopefully I'll have better
luck with the 103. :shocked:
