2 years is a lot to ask in terms of a video game's life span. I
say put it to a poll when the time is right.

We all know that staff are indeed members of OFF but because the
question has been asked maybe we should clarify in this document
to state that the rules apply to all members regardless of
position. I think Bod should have indefinite term lengths unless
a problem arises. Then we could have a member vote of "no
confidence" and if successful then nominations and a vote for
new Bod member. For the record I think overall with the growth
and speed of our clan, the Bod (volunteers) has done an
excellent job. I will post this thread to Facebook page to help
       spread the word.

I feel there is one glaring hole in this. Due process. It should
clearly state the process of how charges will be brought to a
member. How a member will be notified of a violation, how long
the member will have to respond.
Also what is the progress of discipline?
       Just my 2 cents

Slacker is right. Due process should be clear. Lots of good
suggestions here. I agree with Rev that changing leadership
every year is not necessary. Anything to reduce politics is
       good.

       > If this were to happen, we would be going down a very
political road, one I don't agree that we need. I would say if a
member of the clan believes that a board member is not acting
accordingly then that member can start a poll or go to a BoD or
Senior member (which ever is next in the chain of command) and
have them start a poll stating their issue with collaborating
facts to vote the Board member out and then have the clan vote a
new one, something like that. Not everyone needs a shot at
running this thing and some people will just make another mess
of things with what rules they want in place, see what I'm
saying? That's just what I see happening.
       >

Yeah, I did consider the politicking that would be involved. And
       agree that it would suck.
Basically, the idea was that the BoD are NOT a bunch of
appointed-for-life, all-powerful rulers with no accountability
(which some seem to think is the case). They are just folks
willing to dedicate a lot of personal time to the clan and do a
lot of the boring, thankless, and sometimes shitty work that
       needs doing.
I truly wish we didn't need rules. But I also wish we didn't
need rules to keep companies from polluting our air and water,
yet we do. Why? Because while most people are decent, way too
many have a penchant for clinical douchebaggery and general
assholery. It happens in any large group.
These rules hopefully will—when modified with some of the great
suggestions we've had and will continue to receive—at least give
us a framework with which we can operate and lay out some
       general expectations.
       [/quote]
I know what you mean and it would be nice if the folks that join
this group could hold themselves accountable and learn to say
"holy shit, I'm not 15 anymore", I guess that's too much to ask.
Oh well, I'll post to the forum like normal, platoon up as much
as I can (((coughs))) when the wife allows it...lol I just want
