Spent the last couple of day tanking with a group of now former
offr's, while great guys and good tankers, I learned a few
things.
What we are being told by the Board of Directors isnt the entire
truth.
We see all this crap being spouted off "This isn't what the
original founders wanting". The ones who are spouting it
are the worst infractors creating new rules and administering
them as they see fit and without due process.
The original intent of Old Farts and Fogeys was for a group of
guys to get together and tank. No racism was the only rule.
No ranks, board of director, rules list. Robert ran the
forum with the help from a few others and that was it.
Now we have a rules list and a board of directors, with at
least one of them way out of control. We have greeters,
european liasons, trainers and probably platoon war
commanders.
Enough already.
The clan is in deep trouble, many quality folks have or are
talking about leaving.
The problem needs resolved now.

I wanted to post the other day when this all started that I felt
you had something to say but where not saying it. I didn't post
it because I was not sure I could find the right tone, I did not
want to upset you and start a some sort of argument. I am also
a relative noob here. Though I did join the old site I did not
get much involved.
I think as the organisation grew it probably needed a bit more
structure it certainly needs more people to help organise and
keep it ticking over.
I think what we need now is a "mission statement" to decide what
people expect from this clan as it appears to me some think it
has moved too far. I also think any posts or discussions should
be in a clan only part of the board.
I am not involved in any clan role or politics all I can say
anyone I have met up with in game have been good people.
PS there was another question I wanted to ask again I held off,
do you want anyone punished over their behaviour.
BTW I have never downvoted anyone on this site. Thankfully it
does not contain trolls.

The reason it is here the jr members don't have access to that
board.
There are a lot of things being thrown around........The
founders wanted this or that...........
Well the founders are still a live and well, more than willing
to talk about it.

That's pretty much it cheesie, although there was a couple of
more rules ;-)
We actually first used the WOT's forum before moving to our own
forum, which Robert owned.
We formed after a few of us tanked together in a few games and
said how much the youngsters in the games we had just ran were a
pain in the ass, so Coffee posted an invite to set up an over
40's group. ( we decided on a name later )

If you don't feel like things are going the way it started why
don't you tell us what could be done better. Everyone here has a
voice to say how they feel and what they would like to be done
better. With a group this large somone has to take action to
correct things, keep the site going, and welcome new comers with
open arms. I started in the group not long after it started and
I have said before that the true mission of the clan is to win
clan wars and do it with ADULTS. As adults I believe that we can
talk about things to come to a resolution that will fit most of
the clan. What we dont need is criticisum without suggestions.
This is your thread so why not give suggestions on how things
could be better.

The way i see it is like this. I am an adult and I don't need to
be told what to do. I'm not a racist or a bigot and if my
cussing is an issue, oh well. I don't so shit to offend people
because I'm not 12 years old and looking for attention. If I
offend, then you are too sensitive and probably don't need to be
on the internet any way, just an opinion I carry. That being
said, no offense to any of the BoD or the senior members, but as
Eric Cartman once said, "Whatever, I do what I want"! My
political and religious beliefs are my own and if you ever learn
of them, good for you. If you feel you need rules, guidance, and
structure to play a game, then I kind of feel sorry for you and
wish you luck, because you obviously have not grown up yet and
may even be one of the sources of drama that plague this clan.
If you need rules, guidance, and structure on how to act
accordingly in the forum, again, I feel sorry for you because
you are also not an adult. Why is this such a tough concept for
folks to grasp? Be courteous and treat other people like you
want to be treated, you know, the same fucking thing you have
been told since you were about 5 years old. Yeah, that's about
all I want to throw at this conversation.

My post is about the clan being mislead intentional or
not.........The facts give don't jibe with various storys and
departures......Ya I have talked with the ex members about it.
Suggestions
Do away with the BOD, do away with the staffs private board or
make it available to Senior members as well.
Far to many back room discussions.
Have one person manage the forum, that is all sir.
Ya I am creating drama, This important to get infront of the
clan.
If the BOD remains then there needs to be one more resignation.
I know robert took the fall for it, but not sure he was
actually the responsible party.

You know what one of the other basic rules of OFF has been....NO
DRAMA. And evs, fyi...i have been here since the beta. I was
part of the off-topic beta thread from the early days. The
original site owned by Robert (as is this one in case you did
not know) was activated Dec 31. 2013. I registered Jan 3, so
don't for a moment think or imply that I do not have as much
time and effort invested in this group as the others, or that I
do not know what the basic founding ideals were.
Now, as for the NO DRAMA part....what you and Cheesie are doing
is violating that basic rule by instigating and causing distress
among the members who just want to have fun. YOU are making this
an unpleasant place to come, with these threads you keep putting
up. YOU are the one's who are trying to lead this to a split,
not us in the staff.
We try our damndest to keep a calm and productive enviroment for
people, while you continually attempt to undermine us and make
us look impotent. Just when things start to calm down and begin
to return to normal, what happens? You, Cheesie, come in with
some brilliant post and stir the hornest nest up again.
Very well. You think you can do better, have at 'er. You won't
be satisfied until the entire original group has left the
building and you alienate the entire non serious competitive
players from here. Then, you can have another 30 member limit
and have your fucking clan war trophy hunting group.
YOU are the ones who are destroying this group YOU are the ones
who are betraying the ideals it was founded on.
AND I AM TIRED OF FIGHTING WITH YOU OVER IT.
For the record, this is the very first time i have lost my cool
here. I have taken all the crap you have dished out and smiled
back at you and adressed you in a polite manner. Don't like my
tone here, either one of you, too fucking bad because i do not
give a shit anymore.
And I like how you come in here, post this antagonistic and
instigating crap, then immediately sign out. Waiting for the
show to start, huh?

:smoke: looks like I joined the drama club. Not a lets go blow
the shut out some red tanks club. Personally I like structure
for clan wars, but those have not arrived here yet. So lets all
just go platoon up and have fun. Reading some of this crap
makes me feel like I will need my FBI hostage negotiations
skills after all. :bash:
