Was this unsporting?

Just looking for your opinion on something that I did during a
match last night.
I was playing a Tier IX match last night on Artic in my M103 and
was holding my own fairly well. I was at C2 with a couple of
other tankers holding the flank, fighting against another M103,
an E75, and a couple of other tanks. The east flank fell fast
and we were quickly outnumbered about 10 to 3. The Enemy M103
was sitting at D2 and the E75 was at D1, I decided to go for the
kill on the M103 and rushed him, pushed him down into the water
at D2 and he died. In the process of doing this I broke my gun
and it wouldn't fire, and the slope was too great for me to get
out of...I was stuck. Reds started to surround me and I started
taking hits. At this point I said f&%k it and drove into the
water killing myself instead of letting the reds use me for
cannon fodder. Its the first time in over 5,000 matches that I
have done this on purpose and sort of had mixed feelings about
doing it. BTW I didn't get any hate mail which sort of
surprised me.

If you could no longer defend yourself then I see no problem
with ending things faster. If you could still hurt the enemy
then I would say bad boy.

Every other time I choose to go out in a blaze of glory, but
with no gun and no ramming, I just didn't want to sit there and
be shot.

Were you the only one alive at the time? You mentioned a couple
of other tanks. You followed your instincts and even if you feel
uncomfortable about offing yourself it wasn't a situation where
you did not give up the fight. You did what you could to turn
the tide and gained some knowledge from the encounter. I
wouldn't beat myself up about it. I would have loved to see you
push that tank to its demise. Bet the driver was hollering in
their mic.

Sounds spookily similar to a match I was in last night. If you
were that M103 I was cowering behind in my T32, then I apologise
for my early demise. I'm not good at recognising gamertags, but
I watched the battle to its conclusion and I'd say you had no
option.

I'm not entirely sure if I was last or not but if I wasn't, then
my last teammate died around the same time as the match ended
right after my death.

I would have to say it was the same match Greyza Badger, and no
need to apologize, out team was getting their asses handed to
them. I was just alternating shots between the M103 and E75
while popping up out of that little hole I was in. We did good
to hold off as long as we did IMHO.

It isn't me either, that's why I guess it is bothering me...to
be honest, I was sitting there, not able to get out of the hole,
clicking the fire button and nothing was happening, I started to
get hits from all directions and figured I wouldn't let the reds
take me, I would take myself instead. If that gun would have
been firing, there is no way I would have went in the water, I
would have fired at the Tiger II in my sights until I died!!!!

Just a game man, wouldn't worry about it, hell I had many
suicides myself trying to find a new spot to peek a boom from or
spot many times.
