you could title your party "Training" "Lots of chat" Low Tiers"
"All business" that type of thing. Unfortunately you can't. But
maybe you could have a list here on the forum of what type of
party you are going to run tonight and then let people know when
they join your party what's going on. That way people can look
for the relevant member online and join up their party of
       choice.
       >
       > I for one find that sometimes you join a party and there's a
very different flavor going on. Sometimes the guys are laid back
and there's heaps of social chat, sometimes there's a party
where the guys just want to launch and get on with it. All types
are great but if you're mis-matched with what you want to do
that night it can cause frustration i.e. you want to grind out
some big dollars or XP but the guys are chatting lots and it
takes 10 minutes to get a match launched or vice versa. You
wouldn't want to pop into a platoon and find everyone is
training on 2's when you want to grind out the next package on
       your 8.

You could always utilize the forum for that.
Have the Trainer start a thread showing what time they will be
on, what they will be training and anyone that wants to join can
send them a FR if they are not already on the trainers friends
list. If the trainer wants people to sign up so he/she knows how
many plan on attending or who would be attending then they could
       ask that as well.
The trainer could also set a limit to how many they can handle
at a time in each training session. That would limit the amount
of cross chatter when you're trying to teach or explain
something. Plus, smaller parties might be good for newer people
so they don't feel so overwhelmed while larger parties can work
well for those a little more seasoned.
       Just a couple of ideas.

I'm going to put this out here again...
Some of the burnen of responsibilty has to rely on the new
       join...
It starts at the welcome thread...
       Hi OFF'ers,
My name is Jim. I live in North East Pennsylvania.
I have some limited experience playing WoT on the PC (mostly
arty) because my PC would not handle much more.
I have been playing WoT on the 360 since it went live.
I play mostly on the NA East server. Weekdays 6 till around 10
and weekends could be any time until who knows when.
I am currently and actively grining tiers 6 thru 9. I do have
some 2's and a 4 that I love running if I need to help or we
       just go clubbing.
I believe that this will help get the new join set up with the
right people. This Jim guy seems awesome. He is grinding the
same tanks that I am. Similar experience on the game. Same
tanks. I'll FR him and get him show around.
Same with newer and lesser experienced players... Player X is
       grinding 4 thru 7.
       I need to work on my Comet, KV-2, 30.02, SU-100, T-32-85, etc. I
can match your 4's with my Matilda, and I have tons of 5's
garaged to help clear your doubles. Wanna platoon tonight or
       what night works for you?

       Yup,
Communication of New Members goals will only assist the
onboarding process! Maybe ask for their goal info during the
application? Then they can be matched to a compatible onboarder
       from the get go?

I think it should be done in the "welcome player X" thread.
There are people posting in there saying welcome. I believe that
would be a great way to find the who's and what's. Newest
players are at the top of the thread.
I feel like helping out some new players tonight.
Review the top 5 threads. Send messages to 3 new joins grinding
       tiers 5 - 7.
       Hi players x, y & z,
I see that you are grinding some mid tier stuff. If you are on
tonight, I would not mind teaming up and taking down some red
       tanks if you wanted to.
If you get 2 replys, run a 3 man platoon. If you get one? get a
fellow member to join you. Now player x has 2 contacts he/she
platooned with. If you get all 3 to reply? make it your duty to
draft a fellow OFF'er over to run some lower tier stuff and
maybe shuffle the groups up after an hour or so.
Keeps the new joins coming back to the boards and get them out
with other players and knock off thet new car smell.

You can also send bulk messages on XBox live -- just send one
out saying "Grinding tier(s) whatever" or "Looking to grind
silver, so running through my tier whatever premiums" or "Wanna
just have a fun, chill time -- let's party!" or "Let's get
serious with 7-person platoons and kick some OpFor ass" or
whatever. Then folks can send invites if they're of like mind,
or can reply with a message of when they can.
Posting here works, too, for those who are active on the board,
so you can have both bases covered.

I'm actually going to work on a new default "welcome" message
that requests that from new folks: tiers they run, class of
tanks they like, how long they've played, etc. etc. etc. Should
have it by next week (I do need to get some work done! :hiding:
       ).
Would also like to send an email to those who have signed up but
not posted/been active in the past few months asking them to
find their welcome thread and post the same info into it. That
might go a long way to see who is serious and who is not. Plus,
people love talking about themselves, whether or not they admit
       it.

True. You would have already have to have had them friended for
       the bulk message.
I am talking about picking the ugly wall flower and asking them
to dance. Finding out what a beautiful person they are on the
inside and then marrige, kids, family pet, etc...

       with the new people.
