NOTE: If Cheesie seems to be a bit short or even a tad
insulting, don't let him fool you. He's not a bad guy. :pimp:
He could, however, use a decent spellchecker ...
ON TOPIC: Agree that the Meeter & Greeter doesn't need to be a
great tanker. Just someone very personable and with enough skill
to not scare off the new folks.
Trainers, however, should be really, really good at certain
classes of tanks. (Fifstreet for lights, Oxi for mediums, etc.).

Honestly rev
We need to just break the ice and make sure they understand the
basics.
I am not sure we need to spend a lot of time on advanced
training.
I serve on staff as a trainer for our boy scout council and
folks need the basics to get going they may come back at some
point for more and there are some things best left up to
personal discovery
If down the road there is clan war or ladder platoon battles we
will need more but I do like you line of thinking

Couldn't agree with you more!!! The lack of "Basic Trainer's"
is why we are here discussing this... No being a critic, just
pointing out the obvious...
We just need to get more volunteers and follow the same lesson
plan as a clan...
The rest is easy...

I was surprised that when I joined it was up to me to figure out
to get to the forum, add folks in XBL, find people to platoon
with... in my mind coming in, I had it quite the opposite.

In a lot of ways, these are conversations we should have been
having a while ago.....
As far as trainers, as has been mentioned, there also should be
trainers for tiers as well as classes. Beginning tactics are
very different than advanced higher tier tactics.

I gotta agree with flip here. I have struggled sometimes to get
a platoon game partly because the initial friends list I worked
on are mostly from the US (far far away) and also due to ignored
invite requests. Is there an etiquette/procedure I am missing or
does nobody want to be my friend  :palm:
If a list of greeters was available for each time zone it would
help. They would provide the initial info and then you could
move onto trainers if necessary all the while expanding the list
of people you tank with. Obviously the greeters would have to
keep some friend slots free.
On another note my tanking has improved since joining up. Thank
you OFF.

I know we have members in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New
Zealnd, and even Singapore! So we should certainly be able to
cover it all. :-)
BTW: Where do you live? Guessing U.K.ish?
