Never enough silver...

Last night I unlocked my Tier VIII M40/43 American Arty adding
yet another tank that I do not have the silver to purchase. I
unlocked my T-30 a few days ago. Almost had enough banked for
that, but everyone was saying how awesome the KV-2 was, so I
bought one and equipped it. Looking thru my list, I have the
following tanks unlocked but not purchased:
T30
Tiger II
Pershing
M40/43
Black Prince
Panther
I own a JgTig 8.8, but i feel like I am waisting my time
grinding silver when I could be grinding my IS, KV-2, SU-100,
T-34-85, JP2, Comet, Tortoise, T95 or my M103.
Should I just continue to grind more tanks to the point where I
have more unlocked, but not purchased and force me to focus on
buying them one at a time or should I focus on the silver and
purchase the unlocked tanks?
I really want to get the e5 while the special is on.

With this weekends August Extravaganza I did notice

Tier VIII - X: 15% Silver Boost & Discount
This may help you grind some more silver :)

There are a lot of tanks that I want and then I look at the cost
and most importantly, the stats on the tanks. I've changed my
mind on so many tanks because they were either too slow, only
fired 5 shots per minute, etc. If you want them and can afford
them, then sure, buy them. The silver will come, then you'll
want to put equipment on them and what not. Me personally, I
have decided to only really work on one or two tanks at a time,
it's just too hard to try and get enough silver to get more than
one tank over tier VI. I have 4 Elite's that I am using to raise
XP and train crews. I think that learning to develop your garage
to your needs is one of the key facets of this game. And there
you have it folks...my 2cents.

Jim, I would focus on your E5 and purchasing either the T-30 or
the Tiger II.
You seem to like heavies and TD's the best so I would put the
arty and Pershing on the back burner for now. I'm up to tier 8
on the British heavies and they are my least favorite country
(Although you seem to like the British tanks more than I do).
The Tiger II can be a tough grind, but once it's fully upgraded,
it's a good tank and a keeper in my garage. And an elite E-75
is one of the best tanks in the game IMHO.
BTW, I'm having the same problem with silver. I've had the
E-100 unlocked for about a week and don't have the silver to buy
it. Tier 10's are tough because you need close to $7,500,000
silver to: buy it, put equipment on it, and transfer a crew.
That's why it would be great if you could get the E5 while it's
on sale.

e5 for sure. almost 2 mill off. that is almost a Tier 8 tank in
it's self.

I am sure you guys know my thoughts on Silver by now. The
fact is, you can't have lots of tanks that you are grinding and
a surplus of Silver. It's just not possible in the design of
the game. If you choose to grind 6, 7, 8, 10+ tanks and
constantly upgrade them with new packages and to the next tank
in the line as soon as it's unlocked, you will not be able to
keep silver around for special events such as discount weekends.
There are only two ways you can keep surplus Silver while still
hard grinding that many tanks and that is to trade Gold for
Silver(which IMHO is a very bad trade off) or play a good
premium tank A LOT(in which case, you are not really grinding
your real tanks are you?)
For me personally, it's more important that I have PLENTY of
silver so I CAN take advantage of specials to get a great deal
on a tank when it comes around immediately vs missing out
because I came up a million short in the silver. I am perfectly
ok playing a decent tank many times in the same day(as long as
it's a decent tank) and delaying my "upgrade now" urges. This
is mainly because 3 months ago I was ALWAYS out of Silver and
since I changed my approach, I now have a decent surplus of
silver.
Jarhead, you have 8 days to get the Silver needed for your E5.
If I recall correctly, you said you have the JT88? You could
easily make 2 million with 20-30 games (or less if they are
really good games), but you would have to commit to playing the
JT88 solid. A bit annoying by yourself, but if you have two
others who are willing to commit to playing their VIII's with
premium MM also, the games can be great fun and you can blast
through them in 4-5 hours total. Whatever you do, don't do
any 4+ platoon battles as the wait time just kills your Silver
per hour ratio.
IMHO, if you are going to go Silver farming, you should commit
to it and set yourself offline or busy and just blast through
it. If your whole platoon happens to have TWO premium tanks,
you can cycle them when your whole platoon gets killed fairly
early in the match increase your Silver earning that much
quicker.
If you're up for it, I plan to play quite a bit this weekend and
we can Silver farm for a decent part of it. I only have the
IS-6, but have been thinking about the Tier VII premium TD or
perhaps a Tier V premium. If we can synchronize on the tiers,
so much the better. Alternately, we could always switch out
back and forth between premium and non premium mid tier while
waiting for the premium to return from battle. Let me know....

I can always sell bino's off my other tanks if I am short...
Like I said before, I was almost at the purchase price for my
T30 and then the KV-2 came out. All my money went there. Free XP
to the last derp gun, rammer, vents, and optics and all my money
was spent. almost at 700k now then back up to the 4.1 mill and
then equip.

Last night didn't help any of us in the silver earning
department. I think I made about 200K all night long...

Seriously though concentrate on tanks that you want the most..
this will also help train crews faster rather than having 100
tanks with some equipment with barely trained crews.. to 10-15
tanks with decent crew skills/perks and fully equipped. ( and
camo ofc ).
Silver will flow a lot faster :)
