Stupid Question Regarding Permanent Camo

So I bought some permanent camo for my premium and keeper tanks
last night thinking it was 50% off as part of the "August
Extravaganza" event. Having not bought a lot of camo for my
tanks I honestly don't remember what the regular price is, but I
paid about 200 Gold per tier 8 tank and now I'm thinking I paid
full price. I briefly remember Corbantis saying something about
the Extravaganza getting delayed. So am I an idiot and did I
pay full price for camo?

I think that you may have. I would submit a ticket to WG and
look to get credit. I see no reason why they wouldn't do it
since they suspended it due to their issue.

Yes I do believe so, as part of the log in issues they said all
events were on hold until they could check them out.

That's full price. They haven't posted a notification that the
event is back up. They were expecting it to be back on today,
but there is no update on the ETA.
As Oxi suggested file a ticket to get your gold back. Then hang
tight.

Yeah, I submitted a ticket. I KNEW I should have checked with
the resident "makeup experts" before buying!!

I just don't get using gold to purchase camo. That's just me.
I can make the silver for 30 days worth of camo on any tank with
one average match in my IS-6 and even though I have about 18
garage slots with 4 free, I would be concerned about getting
annoyed and selling a tank, even on accident(sold permanent camo
is gone)
I would FAR rather save that gold for demounting complex
equipment as the gold to silver ratio really does not support
the cost exchange.
Just my perspective.

There are certain tanks I KNOW I'll never sell (Tier 8 Premiums,
T-29, E-75, M-103, etc) so, to me, it's worth it rather than
re-doing camo every month. The fact that I never spend "real
money" on this game - I only buy Microsoft points with credits I
get from Bing rewards or online surveys that I do, makes Gold
fluff money to me.

Nyx just announced that all promotions should be back up....so
get that camo.
I perm camo every tank that I know, or am pretty sure I am going
to keep. 50% makes it a value, in my opinion, and I find that I
am always low on silver...always, always always. Silver is the
new gold.

Before getting that camo or purchasing a tank, run one of the
tanks listed in the event that's supposed to earn you bonus
silver. If you have silver in the after action report listed
under mission rewards, then its back on. If its still blank,
then there is still an issue. Just to be safe....

So I submitted a ticket and this was the reply I got:

Support!
While we were fixing the log in issue that occurred yesterday;
promotions and events were turned off. This includes the On
Track event, the Extravaganza weekday event, and the tutorial
rewards. These are currently being tested, and once they have
passed through being checked they will be turned back on.
Unfortunately, we do not have an expected time as to when these
events and promotions will be re-activated.
At this time, we will not be providing any compensation for
purchased items that should be discounted due to the current
promotional outage.
Please accept our sympathy for your situation. We'd like to ask
your understanding that we enforce this policy equally among all
our players the world over, and we sincerely apologize for any
inconveniences this may cause you.

This is the first time I've filed a ticket with WG and I have to
say I'm not impressed. I realize I was stupid not to research
the regular cost of camo prior to buying but, since the "News"
tab still had the event listed as starting on Tuesday and there
was no mention of a delay in-game, I think a refund was in order
in the interests of good customer service.
Oh well, live and learn.
