Played a 5 vs 5, I think it was with Cheesie. It increases the
pucker factor a little, especially on a map like Mountain Pass.
You stretch the line and hope they don't stack any given side or
       else they roll on you.

I think it's a great start. We ran a 7 man platoon tonight with
virtually no problems. Chatter was down quite a bit and other
than the long wait to get in, was quite enjoyable. Oh... And we
       won nearly every game.

We did really well too... Liking the new platoon size.

I ran several in Shard's platoon last night. Was great. As for
Cernig's comments about heavies, I think its more about alpha
damage than tank type. KV1, KV1S and KV2 will be tough at tier
5-6. The 8s and 9s we ran were pretty balanced each side, and
was great fun. Definately dont want to be anywhere on the map
alone, always have a group. Concentrated fire will be a focus
point I know I need to work on. Maybe designate a person in each
pack to call targets, but focus fire will become the standard.

I fell in love with this game again. I love the bigger platoons.
Like Mike said, we had some good success with mixed classes in
the 8 and 9 catagory. FifStreet had some good games in the
lights and mediums he was running. And like SwagDaddy said...
you really need to know what the other platoons are doing. One
paticular match on Himmelsdorf, we were south spawn. Yellow team
broke left, green team broke right. We had the left held down
tight. Long street covered, nobody able to break out to the
tracks. Seemed like we were in total control. We started to
advance and we got blasted from the right flank. It seems the
reds took the hill and the green team was heading straight for
the cap. We had no support on our right. Our fault totally, but
you really need to watche the other platoons a bit more. It's so
easy to feel like superman with 6 reliable friends on your team.

Playing this game is refreshing again with the larger platoon
size. That is what xbox live was made for and it took WG till
now to get it. Now only if the party glitch would be fixed.

Most enjoyable except for the extended queue times. I'm hoping
we continue to see the large number of players that we did last
night. At one point at 9:30 PM EDT, we had over 800 players in
       queue. :thumb:
We do need to keep an eye on the big picture when running the
larger platoons as Jarhead mentioned. Switching to In-game chat
needs to be investigated as that should allow for better
battlefield communication. If we are getting the usual nonsense
on the in-game chat we can always revert back to party.

I agree it would help communicate with other platoons. And
possibly help with the party drop issue.

I enjoyed running larger platoons last night.
I'm not yet ready to say any particular classes or tanks will be
dominant. I do think you have to be very careful about having
"too many" tanks of certain classes. Also watching the tiers is
important too. I saw some sad groups on the opposing teams
because they mixed up the tiers too much. I think there was one
game where we all had VIIs and the reds had like 2 VIs and the
       rest Vs or something.
The larger platoon games seem to be more competitive and require
more team work. This is a good thing IMO.

It's a new beast for sure. Spawned in for a 7 vs 7 last night
and it really hit me that we had full tactical control of what
our team was doing. Brings a new angle to the game for sure.
Played several games and had all kinds of weirdness happening.
The best was the game with Tier IV's the Opfor took a lot of
light tanks and were just zipping and running around. Didn't
concentrate fire and was doing very little damage. It was fun to
just swat them like flies with the Matilda. Our team worked
together and came out with few losses. Also liked our match on
Prok, Tier VII, OpFor had 3 heavies, one TD, and 2 arty. We sent
two to the banner and the rest of us (all TD and heavies) popped
over the center ridge and watched them scatter after nuking
       their arty. :gunning:
