Checking In

All, just checking in on our membership. Is everyone OK?
Me and my family are currently well. I continue to work on
finishing a new hospital here in Canada. Very close to handing
it over.

Work as usual for me. I have to be here so others can work from
home since people are unable to wrap their tiny brains around
what and how a VPN connection and remote session operate. They
also don't understand that when asked what operating system
their home computer is, Windows is only part of the answer!!!!

I've been furloughed since March 27 - supposed to return to work
on April 13, but not sure thats gonna happen. Boss said its a
for-sure thing (said back on 3/27). I'll see if I get any
communication from him before next Monday.
Family is all good - no one I know has the virus.

At least you didn't ask what kind of Windows do you have. They
might answer back Bay windows.

Sorry to hear that you got furloughed. Our CEO announced today
that 15% of our company is going on involuntary furlough for 90
days. We'll know who by end of day tomorrow.

Sorry to hear, I hope this resolves soon. I am glad the hear
your healthy.
I have a bunch that just stopped showing to work, they think the
government will cover them. I have had to spend most of my time
encouraging people to come to work, it is only the last week
that they stopped complaining, my guess they started to hear
from family and friends who are not that lucky.
The other part of my time has been driving around finding hand
sanitizer ( we go through 150 to 200 L a week) and PPE. To make
sure the labor inspectors don’t shut us down.

Duck,
There is all kinds of stupid going on.
I can handle stupid, over the calls from wives, mothers and
grandmothers calling me to tell me I’m evil to make their loved
ones come to work. I listen, and then tell them that their
loved ones have a choice. I also ask how are their friends and
loved ones are doing that are forced out of work.

UPDATE:
Now furloughed until April 27th, which I had a feeling that
might happen. Boss texted us this morning.
Getting some projex done, so I'm not worried.
I will admit, it is sobering to sign up for unemployment...never
had to do that before; I've always been working except when in
school and for about a month after leaving active duty.

We had to lay off 6 of us already ...4 left.
Importing has dropped off pretty badly so we’re just making sure
we can survive this.
