My next move?

So this weekend I earned enough EXP to unlock the M48 Patton.
However, I don't have enough silver (not even close) to purchase
it yet. The M48 has been getting beat up in the main forums as
the worst tier X medium. Should I save the silver to go up
another line? US autoloaders? Soviet Mediums? British Mediums?
I don't want my first tier X to be a dud.
BTW since I spent the EXP off of my M46 I've got "the glow" when
driving it. So weird...
Thoughts?

Just guessing, but I think you'd enjoy the autoloaders the best
(At least up to the T-69). They have good handling and speed
and great spotting range.
You might enjoy the Russians as well since they have good speed
as well and (Excluding the T-43) pretty good guns, but you won't
be able to scout like you're used to because their view range
isn't that great.
Excluding the tank-that-shall-not-be named, the British mediums
are great but they are bigger and not quite as maneuverable.
And you definitely don't want the Tier 10 British medium as your
first as it's supposed to be quite the letdown. So much so that
they are nerfing it and making it a Tier 8 Premium on the PC
(Not confirmed for 360).

The Brit mediums are really good, even the Comet gets a bad rap.
I just got my 7/1 and like it a lot, but a little under gunned
at the moment. Not quite as mobile as American of Russians.
Like Shard said, they are supposed to be getting rid of the
4202, but supposedly if you have it when they make the change,
you will get it as a tier 8 premium, in addition to the Action X
centurion.
I am moving up the Russian Medium line right now and am ready to
unlock the T71, so cant really comment. I enjoyed the M48 in
Beta, it does everything good, not great.

The Russian T-62A is a Very nice Tier X medium. Quite enjoyable
to run. Good maneuverability, and packs a good punch. Just as
with all Soviets, view range is an issue.

From reading your posts, and learning about your play style from
that, I have got to believe that you will totally love the US
auto-loaders.
I am guessing the T71 will leave you as an immobile object
before you TV screen.
As mediums go...it seems the most beloved are the Centurion 7/1
(which I cannot wait to get) and the T-54/T-62 A. However, as
well documented, these are some solid tech tree grinds.
The auto-loaders took no time at all to move up. I bet you
could spread your money across a couple of grinds vs. getting
the Patton.

Maybe not the best but far from the worst. Pens just about
everything. I do very well in it. I love it. Have to get used
to speed and quirkiness of driving it after all the heavies and
TD's I use on a regular basis. If you play it like a med should
be good.
With that said the British meds are quite nice too as well as
the Russian tier X

Thanks for the advice everybody.
I do have the T71 and I am getting used to it. (I'm one of the
few people who still like the Chaffee better) I guess just by
playing the T71 I will be earning EXP for the T69.
I have time to make a decision since I'm no where close to the
amount of silver needed to buy any tier IX or X tank.
I do have a lot of EXP built up on the Comet... hmmm.
The more bad stuff I hear about the M48, the more it makes me
want to play it... I'm weird like that.

Just as an added plug regarding the T-71: I am only about 30K
away from finishing the 116K required to unlock the T-69 and, I
don't know what it is, but this hasn't seemed like a "grind" at
all. It has just seemed to fly by....

Nice Shard! Need to finish working on my T21 to get up that
line. Grinding the Nashorn, AT8, Pershing and that line as well.

The Centurion I is a great tank and although I only have the
stock package on the 7/1 it feels like I am going to have the
same experience with this one.
