You are setting up an Resistive, Captance Filter for your
antenna... It's a crude RC filter for the nerds out there! RF
       rules!!!!
       Caveat!
You will need to rinse and recoat the bottles with sodium every
25 days depending on the relative humidity of your location.
Gravity, dispersion, liquid/fluid dynamics may apply...

Using house hold materials you already have??? Yes his shirt was
made from a sheet he repurposed from his bed, water bottles,
       salt and electrical tape....I’m intrigued

Nice idea. There is one which uses aluminum cans as well.

Aluminum cans = LC network and parabolic shite...
OP is for 5.2 GHz and below... YADA YADA... RF and Microwaves!
Tailor the antenna to the specific frequency... Trade off...
The multipath scattering can delay/alter the fundamental
frequency more than you think... Environmental structures can
and do cause delay to the fundamental. RC network filtering is
more forgiving than LC filtering... End of screed... RC vs LC
= better chance of helping network for the common man.
I used my spec' an (Spectrum Analyzer), to set up my home
wireless and tuned my antennas at the base with an RC network
based on the principles of the video. Lumped element filter, on
Alumina .010 substrate. Worked much better than what is
described. My LC network required very precise coil/inductors
tuning. Worked better than RC BUT the Coil tolerances were
horrendous! Add in the dielectric changes of the air in the
       coil... Well... YADA YADA!!!
The purpose of the filter is to knock down the signals that are
at the 180 vs the 0 of the fundamental... If you can take 10dB
off the scattered/shite signals you have reduced those
       scattered/shite signals by 90%!

So your tanking performance isn't due to crappy internet
       connection then? :troll:

If your router doesn't have an external antenna, you can use a
ziploc bag with the top cut off. The cut is so that it doesn't
       suffer from heat stroke. :Olaf:
