Star Trek Online OFF Fleet Formation

Hi Folks,
Those of us playing STO, we've talked about getting a fleet
together. Now that I have read up on the benefits of being in a
fleet (which are pretty nice), I'll be forming one over on STO
for us. But, in order to do that, we need at least four others
to form a group with me so we can form the fleet. I'll be on
tonight from 7-9 PM Eastern while waiting for the WOT download
to finish. We can set the fleet up then. Meanwhile, here's a
few perks for us being in a fleet:
Players in fleets work on a communal basis to construct what are
known as "holdings" in the game. For instance, fleets all have
the ability to create visual group social areas like a starbase
or embassy where they can go to meet socially in the game,
obtain unique duty officer assignments, or buy unique high-end
gear from the fleet stores.
Fleet holdings work a lot like the game's reputation systems for
other factions. Players can earn a specific type of currency in
the game called Fleet Marks, which in conjunction with other
commodities can be donated to the construction projects selected
by the fleet's leader(s), which include Fleet Starbases,
Embassies, and special dilithium mines.
As players donate to the projects, in return they are given
Fleet Credits. Fleet Credits are used (in conjunction with
dilithium) to buy high-end gear, weapons, and ships in the fleet
holding's stores. Fleet Credit is bound to the character that
donated to the projects. It cannot be sold or given away or
mailed to another character. It also stays with the character
even if the character changes fleets. As each successive tier is
reached, the holding's visual appearance improves and certain
capabilities are unlocked. Fleet specific items are among the
most powerful in game.

in the fleet?

No kaka! 450-500 is standard in most MMOs. We are limited
because of the 360 friends list total of 100 per clan tag.

Question do I have to be federation or can I be another
faction? Like if we make a federation fleet does our other
factions members not part of the fleet?

It would be interesting to see Romulans, Cardassians, Ferengi or
Borg try to join a Fed fleet. :ammo:

Don't think faction matters but I'll check.
