As long as folk are mixing it up regularly, I see nothing
clique-ish about closed parties. I'm not a fan of being opposite
other OFFers either - too often I'm the one who gets :gunning:

(I think it's because I'm an easier target than Oxi, Rob or
Coffee - they can actually play this game :bigsmile: )

As a noob, I probably should be smart enough to keep my opinions
to myself, but I've rarely been accused of being the sharpest
knife in the rack. So...... I've been in the multiple platoon
environment a few times, and while I enjoyed all the camaraderie
and joking around, I'm usually quiet unless I've got something
to contribute to the battle, so it's a bit overwhelming.
Especially so when everybody knows everybody, and chat back and
forth like we're all on the same side.... which for the most
part we ain't. I was asked a couple times which way I was
going, and not knowing who was on which team by voice, answered
only to find myself being taken out by the askee a short while
later. Lesson learned. Misinformation is useful, unless of
course it's really you're platoon who is asking, and takes
offense when you misdirect them. So, while it's great being in
a battle with fellow OFF'ers, it's just too confusing for me and
I rarely survive even when we win.
Oh, and I have no problems with being bashful about making
invites happen to fellow OFF'ers not in platoon themselves. If
I don't get a response I simply assume they are busy and don't
take offense. I play for fun, and if I play alone that's OK,
plus I have friends who are not OFF'ers to battle with, so it's
all OK. Plus sometimes I just suck, using the wrong tactics for
the tank I'm driving.

when you start geting more than 7 or 8 peeps in a room sometimes
the XBL chat starts to go kaplooey... if you can get into a 2 or
3 man platoon and the room is... well crowded, suggest that a
platoon make their own XBL party... cuts down on noise and cross
communication... just my 2¢

I used to ( that's because not platooned for a while ) go into
game chat mode when i'm in n XBL party of more than 3 people.
That way the people you are platooning with only hear info about
the game your in and not cross chatter with the other party
members. Once the game is over, switch back into party chat ..
if you all do that in the party, then it's not a problem

Woo hoo...I'll be back on tonight.
The 8 man parties are ok at the beginning of the play session,
however I'm a firm believer that you don't make silver or xp by
looking at your garage, and there is just too much play time
wasted waiting. With all respect, it's just too much time in
the garage and not enough in the tanks.
I had pretty much decided that I'm going to start by joining a
party and if it's too much, then break away to a smaller one
after I've found a couple of people to play with for a while. I
like everybody and most people don't have a problem with me, so
I don't feel it's cliquey to do so. Many of us are in different
time zones and have different schedules, so if I platoon up with
somebody more often than others, it's most likely because of
that reason.

Spent the weekend grinding a tank destroyer and joined the
partynchat for the social aspect then lone wolfed.
I agree when in the large party there is too much idle time.
Tough tomgrind 159k xp with 3 matches an hour

I dont mind a couple of platoons in a party I can cope with it.
cheesie will drop into party as he says for the social element
and thats fine with me too. I can tank and talk quite happily I
know that not everyone can. As previously stated else where the
bigger the party the longer the turnaround times get between
games. I just want to tank so I do find that :oversmoke:
frustrating.
