You know it shouldnt be noob memebers sending the invites out to
veteran members it should be the other way around. You want the
noob members to feel welcomed then veterans should start the
platoon. as for cliques some people play well with others and
know what the others are doing. Sometimes someone will send me
an invite i dont respond because im in battle and forget about
it or I am playing with my father in law. For the people whining
put your tampon back in and shut the hell up :shitshitshit:

Did I log onto the wrong forum? This thread does not seem to
keep with the spirit of most others I've seen here. Just an
observation.

XBL tag is bluebanditjim. I have plenty of room on my friends
list. It would help me if you have OFF listed on your profile so
I know who to add and ID them when I platoon. If I am grinding
one tank or can't get on the mic (several reasons...wife is
studying or sleeping) I try to set my profile to busy or
offline. Sometimes I just want to listen to music and kill tanks
so I do the same. Please send me a party invite if you see me
online because that means I can platoon up, and I will try to do
the same. All the people I have played with in OFF are great
people, and we have to sometimes be a bit thick skinned to allow
for their own ways. When I platoon it is for the company, a
social experience because I enjoy all the different
personalities in the clan. We are a band of brothers and you
know how families go, we may disagree at times, but in the end,
we have to stick together. That will make the clan work. Peace
and love from an Old Hippie.

Dead pool, I agree with you mostly, but it is also a two way
street. Almost all of us are open to newer members popping into
an existing party or sending us a party invite. Even if a
platoon of 3 is already in place most will split up and try and
get multiple platoons in the same game.

faethor47 actually I think it does. We are Old Farts and
sometimes we do get a load our in Depends, but this is the group
looking out for each other. No one is saying they are better
than anyone else or stomping their feet and threatening to quit
over who's platooning with who. No blood no foul in my book. I
can't stand the WOT forum because it's often nothing but a
sausage measuring contest and everyones showing off their little
smokies acting like it's a salami.
Anywho we know that staff does everything they can to help out
the FNGs among their additional duties, Cheesy's point while
valid, might have been worded a bit better so the guys running
the show and other heavy hitters know that everyone could use a
bit of platooning love. A lot of us all could learn from them,
which is in the best interest of the clan. Particularly with
clan wars, 7v7, company battles all hanging over our head.
:1foryou:
And it was nice to get a chance to put a few rounds into
robertthred as well as kill reds with him today.

When I first joined OFF, Cernig kind of took me under his wing
and taught me a bit about the game and introduced me to some
members (For which I am grateful). After spending a couple of
training Sundays in various platoons, I took it upon myself to
send out FR's to guys I had met. I also watched the forum and,
when I saw players that indicated they had similar play times, I
would send them requests as well. It wasn't my expectation that
other members would take it upon themselves to ensure I was
invited to a platoon. Although we don't always act like it, we
are all adults here.
Yes, it is important to make new members feel welcome but we are
all adults here (Even though we don't always act like it). We
are a group of over 200+ members with varying personalities,
expectations, and quirks. Most of the members I have met here
are great and I fully enjoy playing with them. However, like
all families, there are certain members that I just don't mesh
with particularly well. And that is ok....in a group this size,
not everyone is going to see eye-to-eye with everyone else.
Like most others, I play this game for fun and to forget about
real life for a few hours at the end of the day. I'd like to
think I have the right to play it with guys and gals whose
company I enjoy rather than feel that I meet some sort of quota.
Just my two cents, take it for what it's worth.

Just chiming in here:
Glad Cernig is out there to help us noobs get up to speed. We
were platooned the other night and were about full up. Another
OFF member wanted in and Cernig dropped out to make space for
them. Not only was he willing to do so, but he did it so he
could platoon with one of the new members to help them along.
It's real handy to have him running "Mother Hen" to the rest of
us. Thanks Cernig! :child:
Also I have to agree with Icemaiden. As one of the noobs I've
been hesitant to just join a party already in progress,
especially one that is already full at three. After reading
these post I'll be popping into more XBL Parties, just fair
warning. :1foryou:

Ok, so let's get this party started then (pun intended).
Cry havoc! and let slip the Friend Requests of.. er...
Friendship!
I've just extracted the membership list to a text file and sent
out invites - if you're new and see an FR, I don't bite and I'm
generally laid back about platooning/parties. If you're a Sr.
and we haven't platooned yet, maybe we can meet up some time.
There are over 100 members in these forums right now so that's
the limit for FR's on XB360, so a few of you may be missed, but
I've focused on the Jr members and some of the Sr. members I've
not platooned with yet.
I know from doing this that a few of you (especially established
OFF'ers) have nearly 100 friends as well, so no issues if you
don't reply.
