Hey, the cool part of our clan is we are all grown ups here, we
do not have to beat around the bush.
I initially spent most of my time, at the beginning, playing
solo because I often do not play straight, but work, play a
game, then work, then play a couple more and so on. Also, my
game room is next to my master bedroom and my wife can hear me
when she is in there (in other words I do not play with my mic
when the gal who wears the pants is in the other room).
I think we all have stories like this. I really want to platoon
more. I tried to do it a lot more the past couple of months but
definitely felt as if I was barging in or as if I was breaking
into groups that got comfortable playing with each other. I
really do not need any help, but I would love to play more with
you guys whether to win more, get better tactics together or to
help some of the rookies move on up.
Thus, I suggest that we are just real with each other. It is a
great idea to message people who message you, even if that
message is not immediate but within a few hours. If you do not
want to platoon or had your heart set on your two best buddies,
just say so. If you do not want the party to be more than three
folks, just say so.
We are all too old to be whispering at the lockers or squaring
off to special tables at the cafeteria :grin:
I cannot wait for 7v7 battles, we are going to kick butt and I
am sure all this little stuff will fade away.
Anyone message me anytime, and I commit to returning your
message. I have tanks Tier II (after acquiring a Tetrach)
through IX.
Maybe we create a post zone where people who wanting to platoon
a lot can post....for example,
Hey you old farts, I am off the next two days and am going to
play like every minute, I am looking for platoon mates over that
time, PM if you want to make a date and we can get cozy.....

Ever since joining the OFF I have enjoyed playing with those
that I have been able to platoon with as well as reading the
posts here on the forum.
Since I really didn't/don't know anyone in particular, when I
would see a couple of the OFF online and in a party I message
them before just jumping into the party to make sure it's ok to
join as I don't want to just barge in and be rude. Once I get
the ok I do join and have enjoyed all the platoons I have been
able to run with. Thanks Black51X and Robertthered!
BTW... Love the July 4th décor here on the forum!

To all clan 'noobs' :hiding: :bigsmile:.
Please don't be hesitant to jump into a party. You are never
intruding and if the party can accommodate you they will.
A lot of the existing clan player only know someone is online
because of their existing friends list and won't know you are
there..
So send a few Friend Requests to get exposure to other clan
members. We don't bite :bash:
I am always happy to platoon with new players and can run Tiers
I to IX.
So grab the bull by the horns :charge: and get platooning and
enjoy the fun.

OK, this is going to prove without doubt my noobness but: how do
you show away or offline? I've tried to find it in the menu's
but have failed so far.
My young sons sometimes like to take out the tier II's and III's
(don't get me started about the great 7 year old Chaffee run of
2014) after I've had my platooning fun. They mentioned today
that they had seen some stuff pop up which turned out of be OFF
guys inviting to play. Now I don't want guys to think I'm rude
or anything so apologies to those who didn't get a response to
anything sent to me today.

Hit the big X on yourcontroller this will bring up the XBox
Guide. Go to settings, then preferences, then online status. Now
you can choose online, away, busy or appear offline.

Thanks Ice. I'll try it tomorrow when I fire it up. I've never
played any multiplayer stuff on xbox before (signed up to Gold
just for WOT). I searched for a simple explantion on the web but
it didn't seem to align with what I had seen on the box.
The clearest seemed to be this which is in line with your
advice.

I will try to be little more proactive in joining the platoons.
It's like being a freshman in High School all over again
