Basic pointers for scrims.
By: AhBuaya Date: August 29, 2016, 8:28 am
---------------------------------------------------------
With all the internal and external scrims going on and coming
up. I'm starting this sticky to put down some basic
rules/observations/recommendations/pointers.
Feel free to add stuff of your own, but in the interest of
clarity, I may edit/cut/paste your post and integrate your info
into the OP.

------------------
(1)Keep your tanks alive!
The main objective in scrims is not to loose tanks to enemy fire
while doing the opposite to the enemy. To do that the platoon
needs to spread incoming damage around, sometimes that means
putting your own tank in the line of fire to protect a friendly
who is tracked and has no repair kit. More healthy tanks tanking
point for more damaged ones etc.
If you are badly hurt, don't take the risk of returning fire
while being actively shot at, try to hide long enough for help
to arrive. If you stop shooting at him for a while, there is a
chance that the enemy tank will turn his turret to face
elsewhere and you may be able to pop out and get a side shot.
(2)Team orders
When your platoon leader gives a strategic order to do something
(like take the hill at Mines), you should perform it without
question, even if it means taking a shot in the process. "But I
will get shot at!!!" is not a valid excuse for backing off on
the order. If you chose not to obey an order and others do, you
or the others could be out into a disadvantageous position Ie.
get isolated and blowed up.
(3) Focus fire
This is done to get enemy tanks off the battlefield as quickly
as possible. As often as possible, more than one platoon member
should be shooting at a specific enemy. Anyone can call out for
a specific tank (usually the most damaged enemy tank) to be
shot. Those who can easily see the enemy called out, should
shoot at the said enemy. This may mean ignoring the more healthy
enemy tank right in front of you to and shooting somebody
further away.
(4) Situational awareness
Keep an eye on your radar at all times, it will warn you if you
are about to be flanked and have a gun barrel stuck up your
butt. Also check your main map once in a while, as your
teammates may have move away from you and you don't want to be
be caught alone with one or more enemy gun barrels up your butt
with noone to help you.
