Trying out new comunication idea.

Last night during TOG Tuesday mighty man wes joined our Xbox
Party looking for someone in the OFF Leadership. :hiding:
He wanted to voice concerns about organizing and communication
in regards to OFF activities. He was in a Halo Clan sometime ago
and was taking about how it was set up to try and pull members
together for a nights games.
I told him that we are not big on formal structure and rank in
OFF so having a squad under a Sgt, reporting to a Lt, reporting
to a Capt, etc is just not our style.
He's concerned about others like him that don't get onto these
forums.
So what I'm going to do, and wouldn't mind if anyone wants to
help...
When I log in for the night I'm going to post to my Xbox Friend
list what I'm playing and what I hope to focus on that evening.
We'll see how that works for awhile.
Anyone running Xbox 360 let me know or send me a Friend Request.
If your an Xbone player and currently on my Friend List I will
understand if you remove me. :oops:

Some of the other things that we have are the OFF Facebook page
and the OFF twitter account. The Twitter account would be
really good for this, but this inst everyone's cup of tea....

Going to fairly blunt here, so my apologies if I offend. We have
this forum, which is our primary means of communication. We have
stated several times that checking these boards is the best bet
to find fellow tankers, events, and information to enhance the
player experience with World of Tanks. Failure to take the
initiative to check these boards is their loss. We do not hold
hands here. This is a mature gaming clan, not a clan full of
Justin Bieber fanatics that can't think for themselves.
We encourage the membership to regularly visit the forums, our
(yuk) Facebook page, and our little used Twitter account (Old
Farts & Fogies@WOTOFFXBL). These are the best ways to keep
informed. If folks don't feel the necessity of spending a few
minutes checking out the boards, then they are missing out on
our daily and special events. And that is a loss to all. More
participation in our events means more fun for the entire clan.
We're not expecting you to visit these forums daily. But it is
not an unreasonable expectation to drop in at least once a week
to see what's going on. Heck, you might have information that
you can share that can benefit all.
So if you are reading this, then kudos. If not, then you'll
never know what you're missing.

What a lot of others do, and I am used to it from my PC gaming,
is just have say a TS channel, where people login if they want
to group or talk and hang. Xbox parties are nice, but require
you to actually join someone's party or get an invite. Xbox
doesn't have another option that I know of like TS so that isn't
an option. A lot of people are used to comes like that that are
easy to jump in, so I think that comes out from people's
experience too

Yeah, I wish we had that option as well. Set up an OFF Channel,
and have folks pop in there. We used TS and Ventrillo for the PC
MMOs I played. Even when we had an in-game chat, we used Vent.
What sucks is that we can't have massive raids that last over 24
hours. Those I miss in PC land.
