I like this idea of a junior clan as well. It could be like an
OFF farm system and when they hit 40, they can get called up to
the bigs(olds). I would like this idea even more if we could
send Matt down to the junior section.

From the comp teams point of view, I'm all for getting some
young hotshots into the mix. There would need to be a pretty
serious vetting process though and we should have a staff/BOD be
the commander for OFFJR.

What was the original intention of heaving a 40yr age minimum
limit in the first place?
Perhaps this can answer if we should have a "Junior"
team/members or not.

The age limit was arrived at due to the number of asshats under
40. The amount of time spent trying to get them to follow the
rules and reduce the amount of bullshit drama most of us old
hats in MMOs had to deal with when running with younger players.
So it was easier to just cap it at 40, with a few exceptional
players being allowed in the were under the cap, but conducted
themselves with a certain amount of maturity.
Now that being said, in the Player Associations I helped to
run, (Clans, Guils, whatnot) we had a two step recruitment
policy for players seventeen to twenty-five. Players younger
than that we had a hard time with them when it came to trolling.
So we cut it off at 17.
Step One: Prospect is recommended by a member of the Clan. That
member will be responsible for mentoring the prospect in our
rules and regulations. That prospect would have a review after
30 days to make sure both sides are satisfied that the prospect
meets standards, and the prospect is happy here. If both sides
are in agreements, they become a full member.
Step Two: The person interested in joining submits an
application to join. Since WG has provided a tool, we can use
that. Once the person applies, they roll for two weeks with a
member of staff and varous clan members. Based on feedback, they
will either be granted member status, or nicely told to find a
clan the would be a better fit for their personality/playstyle.
They still will have a 30 day probationary period.
I agree with Remy. If there is to be an OFF Junior, we need a
vet from OFF running the show to keep the kids in check.

If we continue to apply the paragraph the I have highlighted in
bold below, we won't need a "Junior" or "Senior" Clan, we would
be just OFF.
It seems like we already have a way to let younger players in.

I really like these ideas and I support a new -OFFjr- clan tag
as it will be easier to monitor these players and their conduct
when platooning or when we see them in a match. For sure my
vote is yes for the new tag and admission process.

For sure, they need a separate tag and identity.
This means triumph would have the OFFJR tag, correct?

So what happens when these 'Juniors" want to be on the main comp
team? They would need to be issued "-OFF-" correct?
As far as I'm concerned, you are either an OFFer or not. If they
can pass the probationary period they should be full fledged
OFFers with either the "-OFF-" or OFF" tag or whatever the 3rd
tag would be.
We've had enough trouble with people thinking that -OFF- is
somehow superior to OFF. We don't need the possible drama of the
people in OFFjr thinking they are in a way
junior/subservient/inferior to the non jr clan tags.

DaGeneral makes excellent points. I didn't think about the comp
side of things. Unless they had their own comp team but that
would make it more like a separate clan. Also, not sure who on
the staff/BOD would want to be hall monitor for the juniors. I
am therefore changing my vote to no for whatever that's worth.

Thank god my name didn't come up for babysitter! Offjr sounds
like something for kids! An't no one with the right mind and
that is old enough 30 and above going to like Offjr! Besides we
would be changing clan tags all the time from Offjr to what ever
Off clan tag we come up with next. Seem like a lot of work.
