No. the Nimrod was based off the De Havilland Comet which was
the world's first jet passenger plane dating from the late
       1940's.

@ Knight...is the Nimrod any relation to the Poseidon P-8?

       huh huh Nimrod
Here in the States it has another meaning
The true definition of Nim Rod is "A great hunter", but after
Bugs Bunny called Elmer Fudd this name for so long in Looney
Tunes cartoons, it took on a new meaning....A moron or clutz.

The Poseidon is based off the 737. They are based here in Jax,
replacing the venerable P-3C Orions. Huge waste of money.
Should have gone with the Orion 21. The turboprops have greater
       loiter time.

They chose the name Nimrod as it was a sub-hunter, once on
patrol they could shut down two of the engines to extend both
its range and loiter time (longest 19hrs 15min with in flight
refueling). She also carried Torpedoes, Harpoon, Nuclear depth
charges, Sono-Boys , mines and 'other' toys. This is an actual
full picture with the Sidewinders clearly visible.

I work in the compliance department for a huge international
insurance company. AXA if you want to know specifically. I
work in the division that handles employer sponsored
       retirements. 403(b) / 501(c)(3) / 401(k) etc. My job mostly
revolves around reviewing new and maintaining compliance with
existing regulations. I am also an anti-money laundering
coordinator for our site. I manage a small team of people and
we work on all sorts of things...
       NY Regulation 60
       Anti-money laundering work
       SOX compliance and testing
       38a-1
       22c-2
       Managing state audits
       and more...
while the work itself can be less than exciting, the company,
the culture, and the people here are really great.

       Definitely enjoyed reading everyone's background.
I have spent the last 3 years working as a Quality Engineer,
Customer Support at a glass plant attached to the winery I used
to work at for the previous 6. Basically, when they have issues
with the bottles on their lines, I get bags of broken glass to
figure out what happened. On a bright note, it means I also get
to try new products before they are released!
Before this, I did everything from rubber extrusion (railway
ties) to production supervisor doing physical inventories. Once
my wife gets a cushy job bringing in the money, I'll be looking
       at earning a teaching degree.
