       That's some awesome stuff!
Ken2, that lander plate is freaking bad-ass! How much machine
       time did that thing take?!?
Oxi, my brother did that kind of stuff in TX for years...still
does, I'm sure, for Brown & Gay based in Houston. He's SW
       Regional Mgr, iirc.
Jake, now I know who to call if I need to ship some "things"...
       :hiding:
Currently, I make people nuts... :troll:
Seriously, I run fastener work cells for MacLean-Fogg Component
Solutions (20+ years) that make female fasteners, aka "nuts".
Tier 1 customers include Ford, GM, Chrysler, Toyota, Mazda,
Nissan, HD, VW, Mercedes, Case/IH, Freightliner, Great Dane
Trailers, Volvo, Subaru (Fuji HI), Poulan, Murray of Ohio,
Caterpillar, Delphi, AC Delco, Xerox, ZF, Rifast, etc, as well
as many Tier 2 and 3 customers. Our shop (11 employees, 2
shifts) is TS16949 Certified. I also did 5 years in the insp
dept and was Expedite Driver for hot orders before moving up to
       manufacturing.
At our little facility, I'm also in charge of all gages, and I'm
incoming raw material inspector, as well as lead trainer on the
       Sakamura 525 header machines...training #1 son, currently.
I also run my own business where I make custom shifters for FWD
Chrysler vehicles, and some Fords. Company name is Maddog
STS...made this for an Army buddy:

He had a regular knob to thread on for regular driving. The
grenade was an actual M21 practice grenade from the 50s with the
M10 fuse. The shift rod itself is .476 OD high carbon Steel
(1040 DD), and then coated with black Line-X.
Before playing with nuts, I did one year as a mortgage
       broker...hated it... :scream:
Before that, I was a boss for a landscaping company in NE. Was
ok - probably was in the best shape I've ever been in lol
Before that, I was a Weld Inspector for General Dynamics,
Electric Boat Division in Quonset, RI, where we did pre-assembly
on the hulls for the 688 fast attack subs and the Ohio class
       boomers.
Before that, I spent 6 years in the US Army, playing with
       these...

I am currently the Network Infrastructure Admin of our local
County Government, for the past 20 years. Official title is
Network Systems Analyst. We have 32 sites, about 1600
workstations, 1200 VoiP phones, 250 servers (50% virtual).
Anything to do with Networking is my realm: fiber optic,
microwave (DS3 sonet ring), wireless, VPN, lan to lan tunnels,
etc. I am also in charge of security, firewalls, camera
surveillance, anti-spam filters, web content filtering, anti
malware, etc. I also work with the DA's office, and the local
Sheriff and other police agencies in a technical support
fashion. Every day I have China, Russia, or someone in South
America knocking on the door. Before this job, I worked in
Marketing and Sales for Bristol-Myers-Squibb Pharmaceuticals.
My job is mentally challenging, and I have a great staff. It
is starting to hit home that many of our new hires are young
enough to be my kids...
I get to jam out to Rush - today's flavor -Farewell to Kings in
       the office. (1st picture)
2nd picture is of the Network Operations Center.

What?? Only 6 monitors on your desk? You some kinda poser?
       :troll:
Seriously, that's pretty cool! And, one heck of a lot of
responsibility, as well! Having competent staff you can trust
can make all the difference in a position such as yours.

Ha - did I mention government? Those monitors are departmental
throwaways because I cant buy squat for myself... Its all
good. Got the FURY movie poster from local theater and told
boss half my white board is dedicated to that only! :1foryou:

Currently I am a Physician Recruiter. My prior occupation was
working 15 years in trenchless pipe rehabilitation – fancy name
for working in the sewer - which turns out to be similar to
       physician recruitment.
Long ago I worked as a CADD specialist (AutoCad and Intergraph)
for a civil engineering company. Back in the day most engineers
did not do their own CADD work - they had trained monkeys like
me create their designs. Which explains why northern Virginia’s
neighborhoods and roads are such a cluster foxtrot!!

I spent about 15 years after college working in the biotech
industry for a company called AMGEN, which develops
protein-based therapeutics in the fields of nephrology,
oncology, arthritis/bone health and metabolism. I started out
in the labs doing recombinant DNA and microbial fermentation
work (reprogramming e. coli bacteria and brewers yeast cells to
make human protein), and then shifted to the business side in
project management and finance roles after getting my MBA.
Once the company grew a crap ton (from 2,500 to over 30,000
folks globally) and got a lot less fun, my wife and punched out
and moved to Idaho to be near her family and start our own
business (11 years ago now). We own two pet food and supply
stores in Boise called Northwest Pets and are about to open a
third in about a month. Retail is a tough business these days,
but we have managed to be pretty successful and it's really nice
having the flexibility of being your own boss.

For the last 8 years I have been the Quality Control
Supervisor for an electronic component distributor, NAC Semi.
We buy and sell electronic components to many different
customers; from mom & pop repair facilities all the way up to
aerospace/military clients. We use the grey market and are also
       franchised with various manufacturers.
I am in charge of making sure there is no jackassery going
on with the parts and believe me there is a huge market, mostly
from China, for remarked and counterfeit parts.
The warehouse picture currently holds 15,000 line items
worth, depending on current market value, $1.0 - $1.5 million,
and I have to ensure all of it is genuine. It is a very time
consuming job and tedious, but I enjoy it and do very well at
       it.

I see someone has done (or will do) their Bing searches today
       lol
       All very cool!
Matt, I have a deep "non-respect" for Chinese goods; especially
after all the economical crap that has gone down over the last
2-8 years...lost many a wage because my company insisted on
buying fasteners made over there. I always buy non-Chinese
goods, beginning with American, then North American, European,
etc goods before Chinese goods, unless, for instance, it's a
tool or device that I know will get destroyed in the process.
Keep a sharp eye open for that junk!!! :watching:

I try and avoid Chinese goods where I can, but boy is it hard.
I did some training of environmental scientists over in Beijing
over 7 years ago and many were good and conscientious. Many
however played very fast and loose with quality control and data
quality....... Sorta up Dels alley, almost lost my dog to
kidney failure due to Chinese rawhide and the high levels of
Arsenic and other heavy metals as a byproduct of the tanning
       process.
