If any of you blue/purple guys need a platoon mate and see me
on, toss me an invite. I feel like I'm stuck skill wise and
struggling to move up. Cane Heat pointed out a few things
yesterday that I need to work on, and Im down for some more
criticism. Ready to take the next step lol

Have you tried shooting red tanks and not getting shot in
return? That's what my wife always suggests when she watches me
play.

I am mostly on the PS4 nowadays (i know - boo, hiss, PS4 sucks!!
lol) and i dont know your play times or favorite tank lines to
play, but i would grab any of the comp guys to run with just as
a start. They often play a lot of games and due to the comps
they are most likely working to improve as well. I would also
consider joining some of the comps as well - it is an excellent
clearinghouse of information being shared, and i lot of it
translates into "normal" platoon play.
Lastly, but far from leastly, i would try what i did - watch
super unicum videos. Playing and learning is best, but I still
will watch the vids for pointers. The other day i watched
JustanAce's FV215b game and seen that when he is face hugging he
goes from far zoom to normal zoom mode - it never dawned on me
to do that but you could see what a difference it makes.

Don't be too hard on yourself...
Assuming the battle count in your signature is your total across
all systems, I think it's still low from the perspective of
mastering a long (and required) list of game dimensions like
tank classes, map knowledge, weak spots, flank dynamics (when to
stay/push, ride the lemming train or not, etc), etc. I'm at
about 15,000 now across XBOX and PC and I feel like I am finally
starting to get a grip on these things without having to THINK
about it too much!

Honestly, though -- most of my stat increases have come from a
few things:
1. Being more patient when needed -- One thing I've noticed
running with the super unicums is that they will wait for the
reds to make a move, especially when bottom tier. This doesn't
mean camping, but rather waiting for the greens to make a move
and get shot by a red, THEN the unicums make their move and
shoot back. Kinda like using greens as distractions. Doesn't
always work, of course, but it does often.
2. Being aggressive with map positioning -- I've asked for a map
guide from JustAnAce and a few others for months, and it's great
to see they have done it! Particularly, the aggressive positions
one should take to control a map. Not every map has them,
granted, but most do, and taking those are critical. (Hill on
Mines is a good example -- 90% of the time, the team that wins
the hill wins the game).
3. Know your target damage -- One thing I have done is memorize
the damage targets for the tanks I play often, and do all I can
to hit that number. Example: Unicum damage in the V/IV is just
750, making it one of the best stet pedders around. The Obj.
140, on the other hand, is 2,700, which is really high. (You can
find them all at
HTML http://www.targetdamage.com
HTML http://www.targetdamage.com
. ) Just do all you can to hit those
numbers and you'll see your stats increase.
4. Make smart trades -- One thing I've stopped doing is trying
so damn hard to get a shot when I know I'll get shot in return.
Yes, you might have to trade damage in certain situations, but
try to avoid it at all costs. In fact, one of the things I've
noticed is that, as my damage ratio has increased, so have my
stats and win rate. And that's all due to deciding to NOT take a
shot in some situations and just being more patient and picking
my spots better. Again -- wait for the reds to get impatient and
make a mistake, rather than doing so yourself.
Not sure if any of that is useful, but ... best of luck!
:superdrunk:
(Oh, and I should be online tonight. Would really like to run my
E-fiddy and HYPE, but am flexible with that, so lemme know.
:thumb: )

Everything being said above and I'll add (even though my stats
need help too), don't be afraid to run away. When a situation
is not right you know it, turn your tank around, escape and try
to pick a better situation somewhere else. Oxi did a great job
of pointing out to me that I die to much and after thinking
about it I realized I'm way to aggressive. I have found that as
my survival rate climbs, so has my damage dealt.
