Both seem like solid tanks - anyone have both and have a
preference?
Thanks!

Hey LC! The T-34 plays very similarly to the T-29 or T-30,
hull-down beasts. The IS-6 is pretty mobile and good for
all-around battle, similar to an IS-3 or 110.
It depends more on the playstyle you want to pursue.

Danger hit it on the head. I believe the 34 is more of a Silver
earner because you Do Not have to fire Gold rounds to Pen, but
you will face tier 10 vehicles.

I went with (and quite like) the T-34. Having said that, the
IS-6 does get preferred matchmaking - which makes it more
competitive within it's bracket. I was concerned with it's
lower penetration if it had to go up against X's - but it
doesn't =]

I just went through the same analysis, as I really needed a Tier
8 premium to grind some credits and run with OFF'ers to balance
out their spiffy Type 59's (yes, I am very jealous!).
I have almost 350 battles on PC in my IS-6. It's a fun tank to
play with a nice armor profile and mobility, but the accuracy of
the gun is so derpy that it drives me crazy sometimes. You also
have to run gold to be competitive against Tier 9's pretty
frequently, so the earnings potential is a bit limited vs. the
T34.
The T34 has that tremendous pen/alpha damage and hull down
capability, but the aim time, reload and soft stats of the gun
seem to be limiting from the reviews I have watched. Therefore,
I went with the IS-6 again. I have started out really well in
it, and I swear that it earns silver on XBOX way better than on
the PC, even when you are firing a lot of gold. I don't know if
I'm seeing things or not with regard to credits, but I've been
really pleased with it so far and I would not hesitate to
recommend it.
That said, I hope you like your T34! Maybe you can post a
review on it later?

I've been pretty happy with the T34. The review is easy:
It plays like the T32 if the T32 had the T110E5's gun (hits as
hard and pens as well - just 4 shots a minute for the T34
compared to 6 shots a minute for the E5).
Long aim time, but with that slow reload you can balance it out.
Plus my best crew is American so bringing all those skills and
perks to bear helps! Need to get my Russian crew trained up!

Ahhh, Sir Mix-a-Lot's favorite tank, the FCM 50t. I want to
like its big butt, too, I really do! I have one on the PC and
have to make an admission that after 189 battles in it, I have
one mark of excellence, but only a 42% win rate (pretty
embarrassing). :palm:
I love the gun, the depression, the mobility, and the earnings
potential, but I honestly dislike getting top tier in it. You
take up a top tier heavy slot and you can't brawl with it
effectively (I know I could get better using the tracks to eat
shots, but the margin of error is pretty slight), which makes it
much harder to carry in pub matches. On top of that, you get a
fair share of folks who don't understand the tank hollering at
you in chat to play it like an IS-3.
On the right maps, I have a great time with it and get excited
about it. Then I seem to get a string of bad maps/spawn
locations or clueless teams and really struggle (though I am
slowly getting better with it over time). Maybe it would be
different if I ran in platoons on the PC.
Anyway, I do need a second tier 8 premium, so I am going to
think about it again. I was thinking about the Spershing, so I
can get my Pershing crew buffed out more for comps. It's also
$20 cheaper, I think. Decisions, decisions (first world
problem, I know!)...
