T 8 Mediums for competition

With all the variants in our play styles, I am curious as to
which medium you prefer for competition. With the new run & gun
tactic out there, the staple (Pershing) could lose it's place as
the number one choice.

Good question Evilnonsense. I own the T69 but always felt it
required a hit and run style to play and performed better in a
platoon environment. I could always do well in it but never
carry a team.

The problem with the T-69 is that reload, autoloaders have to be
really careful because of the swarm and focus fire attacks. You
don't have the luxury of waiting in these games, it is go and go
now, all tanks attacking at once. Plus it has a large profile
and really soft armor. I don't even like bringing out the 50-100
for these reasons.

In the new run and gun there is actually no medium sufficient
enough to compete with the speed and dpm needed. This is not a
personal opinion, this is from guys that know a lot more on PC
than any of us do on console. And no the games are not that much
different for this to be irrelevant as I hear sometimes. I did
see a particular strat that used the 416 but it was to counter
run and gun up the 3 line road on Prok. The run and gun uses
pretty much Bulldogs, LTTB, T-54 lwt., RU-251's. I have seen
13-90 mixed in as well. I think we need to focus more on not
trying to fit the tanks we have or like into competition but
getting the one's that will help us execute the most successful
strats. I guess I would say we do not need to try and reinvent
the wheel, but learn to actually build one. Which we started to
do a little last night in practice. That being said, a map like
Steppes where you might be able to make a defensive stance
against the run and gun, I still think the Pershing is the best
medium in Tier VIII.

I need to start watching more comps. So States, are they running
the above lights mixed with the IS-3 and T-32 or just straight
lights?

The T69 is legit.
400m view range
Quite mobile
14 second reload for 5 rounds (1000 burst damage) on 76mm gun
23 second reload for 4 rounds (1000 burst damage) on 90mm gun
The limitations put on this tank actually a little silly.
