I live about 50 miles from there bud. took my son last month the
pics were posted to the old forum!! I'll repost them at
somepoint. As you say its a great day out and no mistake. As I
can go back free for a year on the original tickets I may well

That's cool. I saw a documentary on Nazi Secret Weapons and
there is a restoration group in Switzerland restoring a Tiger II
to an operating condition.

Jealous!
I live over 250 miles away, so it's a once a year trip for me,
coupled with a holiday in Devon.
One thing...if you look in the pictures from the conservation
centre, there is a Churchill type tank that stands out (desert
colours). My lad reckons it's a Churchill VII, but I wasn't
sure, so I asked one of the museum guys who said it was an
Excelsior. I wasn't sure about that either, so I've just looked
in to it by comparing pictures from t'internet and I think my
lad is right.
Any thoughts?

He's right it's an excelsior!! Also did you see the Cromwell
that was fitted with a centurion turret? They only built a few
but the extra weight made it too slow! Looked awesome though!

Well, how 'bout that!
The pictures claiming to be of the Excelsior didn't look much
like the one at Bovington to me. You live and learn. Must go see
my optician again.
