World of Tanks Community Tournament roster
By: Remy1974 Date: March 7, 2016, 6:56 am
---------------------------------------------------------
After much deliberation, I'm excited to announce our tournament
team is almost set!
The roster is comprised of the following tankers:
Oxi - captain
Buaya
States
Remy
BadDad
Corbantis
AaaaaaandIMDone
Oxi
Faethor
Chilli
TBD
This team gives us a nice mix of strategic minds combined with a
powerful assortment of experienced competition drivers, covering
every class.
AskingOregon will be heading up a practice squad for the
duration of the tournament. This squad will also have the
oppurtunity to play other clans in the Friday Night Rumble.
Anyone interested in helping out should contact him.

Timing of competition is 1800 to 2300 UTC. Is enough of your
roster available at 1800 UTC on weekdays?
Just asking the question as the timings seem far more favourable
to the EU time zone, or have I got it wrong somewhere?

Bin the last - I just noticed its weekends only.
I did notice that a clan can submit 2 teams though......

This does raise a question though.
If 1800 to 2300 UTC is going to be the way forward for official
WOT comps (will it be? Any thoughts?), would it not make sense
to move official clan training sessions to this time? This
would allow daytime NA players and EU based players to compete
also and to try and get onto the roster.
Or is it still preferred to have a split clan with a team from
each timezone thus resulting potentially in weaker OFF teams
representing than a stronger single team?
I would prefer the first option tbh but I do understand the
difficulties.

There is a heavy discussion going on in the main forum about
which server these matches should be played on. I know when we
scrimmaged the BillyBots, we played EU and just about our whole
team suffered lag (that's the excuse we are sticking with). They
are talking about NA East being the neutral server and also
discussing doing a coin flip to determine server.
This roster was picked based on experience playing together and
performance. We are also on a time crunch with only a few days
to put it together. Seeing as we have been discussing
competition teams for the last 18 months and made little
progress until recently, I didn't want to throw a kink into what
we have by trying to start over..... again.
I agree we would be stronger if we combined our forces and this
is definitely something that should be considered when moving
forward. For now though, it isn't there.
Clarky, I'm going to send you a PM.

I totally agree - it is a strong team and everyone is there on
merit with the current system which I 100% support.
What I wish is that we had more information from WG on what will
happen for future official comps etc.
Not likely to happen I think
