I built actively when I was in my teens and Tamiya's were the
best. Hasegawa's weren't bad either.

My brother and I built Tamiya kits, along with some early
Monogram stuff. The Tamiya were much better. We did AFVs, and
aircraft, and a few ships. I mostly concentrated on automotive
kits, doing some kit-bashing, building my own motors from
collected parts, etc.
Still have my 2 Tamiya kits from about 35 years ago...Bren Gun
Carrier, and Pz II

Used to make diaramas...a dead tank with troops and recon
vehicle next to it. Took months (and some model rebuys due to
stupidity/mistakes) but made three of them over time when i was
young....then i hit 12-13 and i noticed that girls grew
breasts....and no more models!!!
Still have an unfinished SdKfz 232/4 somewhere....

I bought and painted the Heng Long version (not as flashy as
Mickey metal one!!) it has had a LOT of upgrades such as Metal
drive wheels, metal tracks, upgraded brass gears and there is a
new control unit and sound card in the plans for this year = I
should have bought the metal one agh...
This is how she looks after painting

Very nice! To be honest, I really intended to only build a few
of the 1/35 plastic models to hone my skill for my own 1/16 RC
Tiger and Feisty's KV-1. But there is so much cool stuff out
there that I became quite hooked. And honestly, it's relaxing.
Almost as relaxing as reloading my own ammo.... ahhhhh...
soothing.

I did a ton of research a few months back and I'm really tempted
