Quick tank overview for comps .

With our amazing victory last night , i can already feel a
little more interest being stirred up in people. I know a lot of
people may want to hop into these comps. but dont really know
how these setups usually run. so i thought id lay out one of the
most important factors in clan matches... THE TANKS !
there is a very small window of tried and tested tanks that work
, and work well in these matches. so if you want to get involved
in some of these in the future i highly suggest you purchase a
few of the following,
I list tanks tier 6-8 due to the fact that im sure we will be
running this 54 point setup for most of these events ( Tier
grand totals for all tanks must be no more than 54 points)
A-List Tanks Tier 8 : IS-3 , T-54 Light Weight , T-32 , AMX
50-100
B-List Tanks Tier 8 : T-69 , Pershing , 110 , WZ-132 , AMX-13-90
, RU-251
A-List Tanks Tier 7 : LTTB , M41 Bulldog , AMX 13-75 , WZ-131
A-List Tier 6 : MT-25 , T-37 , 59-16 , AMX-12t , AMX-Chaffee.
These are the tanks that you should either be working your way
toward , or bulking up on skills and perks. As you will notice ,
there are no TDs or Arty , mainly because they are 1 trick
ponies , and when caught in a one on one situation are more
often than not , unable to defend themselves properly.
Note , this is NOT a personal favorite list here , these are the
small list of tanks that you will find in every single high
level e-sport gaming event. yes there are a few times teams use
tanks not on this list , but they are seldom welcome , and
usually do not fair well. The tanks listed about are tested and
true !!! and all function to the very best of their tiers.
As far as equipment and such , there is only one item that i
suggest on every single tank you want to bring to these events,
VENTs ! other than that it a lot of personal preference at this
point, whatever makes you a more comfortable , and better
player.
I hope this helps a bit , as i know a lot of you are either new
, or totally unknowing of how these events work , especially at
high levels of game play.
Feel free to ask me questions or put your 2 cents in here.

take all 7 guys and add their tank tiers together. we ran mostly
two 7s and five 8s , add them all together and you get 54.
let me state this about german tanks , and this is NOT , repeat
, NOT my opinion but what is usually common knowledge in
competitive game play. German tanks as a whole are not taken
much , if at all. Frequent fires and ammo racks are the major 2
reason.
watch almost any random world finals event and you may see a
single german tank if you watch 10 videos. they just dont work
well in high stress situations.

the most common tanks are the ones i listed in my original post.
using these tanks in training rooms is probably a good idea but
not a must. our training rooms focus on tactics and gameplans ,
tanks choices arent as important when doing that.

Thanks for the write up War, very interesting that they use
lights instead of fast maneuverable mediums. I would think the
Chinese T34-1 would fit nicely into the lineup.
Is the best way to get started to join the Friday night training
rooms?

The thing is Danger, with the point system you need to take
either 2 tier 7 or 1 tier 6 tank. At those levels a tier 7
light like the Walker Bulldog or the AMX 13 75 are much more
deadly than something like the Comet or VK 30.02D. Aslo
remember that light tanks do not lose their cammo when on the
move so are a must for spotting.

Bold, i thought the same thing. I love the Tiger II (it will
always be in my garage) and when we ran our showdown and beat
the IS-3's i was scratching my head - why doesnt it get used at
competition level?!?!?
Last night removed all doubt.
As an example, on Himmelsdorf we ran around the map and
surprised the VGCers. Oxi had the lead and came around the
corner first and seen a Tiger II. As i came up to assist him,
Oxi killed him - so one magazine, one dead Tiger II. The VGC
guys brought Tiger II's all night, and they played them well,
but we consistently hurt their team by taking their Tigers out
much easier than their IS-3's.

I mostly carry regular AP for my heavies. Typical loadout
75/25% AP/APCR. In the case of the 50 100, I carry enough APCR
for 2 full clips.
As far as use, mostly use the APCR on really tough nuts to crack
in Tier IX and X. That and when my health is really low and
cannot afford a bounce.
