Monthly Special Events - Brainstorming
By: Corbantis Date: November 3, 2015, 6:58 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Hi All,
We're looking at revamping the monthly events (you know the ones
you get prizes for). We need your input on the following:
1) What types of Contests appeal to you (platoon style,
individual competition, etc).
2) What is the best way to improve participation (short of my
suggestion to Staff and BoD to start tazering folks behinds)?
3) Communication modes - What is the most effective way to
communicate these events out to the entire clan?
4) Prizes - What types would you like to see (WOT codes, WOT
Jinx items, T-Shirts, Amazon Gift Cards, etc)?
5) Level of difficulty - contest criteria too easy, too hard, or
challenging?
Any and all constructive feedback are welcomed.
Ruggers, your feedback must be given while sober please. Thanks
:mooning:

I was thinking of running a Saturday "Premium 8" event in the
training room where any premium 8 tanks will be allowed,
except.....If there are 10 or more players per team, each team
will be allowed to run two tier 6 (premium or non premium)
lights each.
Instead of the best of 7 battles, it would be a "race" to 7, so
even if a team were 0-6 there would still be a chance to win.
I'm thinking this will keep the players amped up for the whole
duration of the event.
The maps will be played in the order listed in the traning room
and repeated if necessary. To get better in WOT, we shouldn't
pick and choose maps.
Instead of having captains pick platoon mates, players will be
automatically assigned to teams in the order they sign up. The
even numbered sign ups will be on one side and the odd numbers
be on the other, so there can be no claims of favoritism. Of
course, there will still be the need for two team captains to
heard their respective cats.
Oh yeah, premium ammo can be used.
This shoud be it. I'll keep adding if I think of something more.

Soooooo, i dont have to give feedback then!!! :superdrunk:
Only thing i might adjust is starting the competitions on
Thursday or Friday rather than Monday/Tuesday.....i seem to have
forgotten them by the weekend (with all the other events,
platooning and general mayhem) when i would have more time to
devote to putting up a good pic.

I have several ideas for events and how to contact folks.
Sadly, I was out of the office yesterday and have a TON of stuff
to catch up on, so it might be a day or two before I can get
them together and posted.
So stay tuned, I guess ...

I would like to see events where I can participate even with my
night owl schedule. Contests for most damage done etc. It's hard
for me to platoon in the early evening when most events take
place

Agreed -- we need to have a series of times available for events
in order to accommodate all schedules.

Here's an idea i had when the SU-76i was released.
a tank bounty hunt event. You pick a popular tank (Tiger) or
maybe even a series of tanks (All versions of the Tiger) and
have a contest to see who can kill the most of them over a
particular time frame. You could go on the honor system or
require screen pics.

With regard to passing information out to everyone, is it
possible to do mass mailing using a Personal Message within the
site?
