So tonight, grinding away. First battle was able to punch
through a few shots not bad. About broke even on silver. Second
match, 4 kills. Damaged 6. Spotted (believe it or not) 2 others.
Walked away with a cool 45k in silver. Finally getting the hang
of it. But I bet everyone thinks I'm shaking my head as much as
I would that turret around while reloading, or that I'm Michael
J Fox (bad joke I know, I'm going to hell)

TKE919.. I kinda follow that philosophy of stopping at a
certain tier... I got to my Tiger II the first time I hit tier 8
and I sold it within a day I lost so much silver. this time
around having built pages into the home server so we all can
track our silver and free XP [came home one weekend to find
several tanks had been bought and left me unable to upgrade...
lol changed that real quick!] I added a little function that
allows us to set a loss limit.. So its kinda hard to keep going
out and forget how far in the hole the tank has really gonel..
today was a day I was glad I had the reminder... EVERY Game was
loss, I pushed my loss upto 35k then parked the ole girl.....
Though it will be a week or 2.. I see myself venturing into tier
9 and the E-75

You'll love the GW Panther.. I kept my hummel, the GW P and the
GW Tiger P in the stable.. till they nerfed the arties.. I kept
the GW Panther though.. GREAT arty at any tier.. My only grip
about the GW Tiger/P is it is too much artillery for such small
maps.. that girl needs protection and breathing room to be
effective..

I was lucky enough when I first got my Conqueror I had quite a
bit of loose xp so I was able to skip the grind and head right
into the 120 mm gun... I kind of learned NY lesson from the
painful grind on the Carnarvon to have some loose xp saved.

Funny you mentioned this. I'm doing the exact same thing right
now for the same tank - Conqueror. Tier VIII's have been
frustrating for me at times, especially when losing silver.
Seems most of the time I'm either at the top of the match, or
the very bottom doing battles against higher tanks I have very
little chance of damaging. I've been thinking of just selling
the VIII's once I start breaking into IX's and X's. I dunno.

I am thinking the same thing. At the moment, with a Tier 8 tank
you run the chance of getting into battles with tanks 1 tier and
2 tier higher then you. So what is the point in keeping them if
they aren't "fun" or "silver-makers"? When you know you are
going to have those matches where they cost you $20k in silver
cause you done got blowed up and fired 10 shells.
In all honesty, the Tier 8's are the one tier that is stuck in
the no mans land. Cause you are more than likely going to get a
Tier X battle. At least from my experience.
I got the M103, sold the T32 immediately, did not feel bad, do
not miss it, happy for it to go to the scrap yard.

Now that's good to hear. You just confirmed the light at the
end of my tunnel is actually there and it's not a train!!!
:grin: Sounds like the thing to do. I have both the T32 and
the Caernarvon. Both fully upgraded and equipped and are a
regular source of misery. Oh well...grind, grind, and more
grind.

Here is what I told myself, and i am not expert on this by any
means, you are only running this tank for the XP. So i would get
in and do my best to stay alive and take quality shots. I didn't
lead the pack around corners (which is my natural instinct), i
didn't try those 500m shots across valleys, i just worked the
tank like a support tank. That is how i rolled the T32 and what
i am doing with my Tiger 2, Pershing, and Panther 2 at the
moment. I really didn't even look at the battle reports, unless
i had an awesome round, i'd then drool for a few moments but +
or - silver didn't matter to me.
Tier 7 and lower was for making silver. still is.
