The Pokémon syndrome - got to get them all
DIR By: Barytonic
Date: October 26, 2015, 3:17 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Hello, I am Barytonic and I'm a WoT addict. To be more precise,
my goal is to unlock every tank possible in the game (excluding
premium tanks) and to that end I'm grinding all the lines pretty
much simultaneously.
What this of course means is that my progress through the tiers
is slow - working with tier 5 at the moment, only a few tier 6
tanks in the garage waiting for their crews to be trained and
equipment to be bought. Now, does this sound like something any
sane person would do?
The obvious answer to that might be yes, if it is still fun. And
it kind of is. Sure, that means I've played lots of tanks that I
absolutely hate (or rather haven't understood their potential
and played them accordingly) but there have been good moments
too, when I've momentarily both realized how to play a certain
tank AND remembered to actually play in that way in the heat of
the battle.
Most of the tanks I've fully researched have been sold, apart
from a few special cases which I keep coming back to. Such as
the M5 Stuart, T18, Covenanter, Su-26 and StuG.

welcome to the clan first. and yes...this game can be VERY
addictive , lol. dont i know.
i applaude you for what your trying to do , and up until around
tier 5 , gridning all the lines is a pretty fun thing to do
,especially someone fairly new to the game.
I just want to warn you that around Tier 7 and 8, this practice
is going to really slow you down a lot as the grinds get VERY
long and VERY expensive. Sometimes just grinding to get your
tanks final package can take a week or longer (depeneding on
play time). Not that im trying to keep you from your plan , lol
, but i would suggest that once you get to 7 and 8 , streamline
your tank choiced down to 2 or 3 lines tops. i think this will
keep you from getting hung up in a seemingly endless grind.

I concur with War. Getting to tier 5 is quick and easy, 8 and
above will test your patience. And that means time and money!
So many of us have broken down and "ruggered" our way through
the pain instead. :arty:
BTW, you shoud invest real $$ and get yourself a high level
premium. You will need it's money making capabilities once you
start playing regular tier 9-10 which are real epensive to run.

Unfortunately, I'm also going to have to agree with these two
yoyos.
I would never recommend grinding more than 3 tanks at once
because progress is slow, and lack of progress means you may
lose interest. The best way to keep this game fresh is to make
certain you set yourself up for some wins and that means some
new shiny's. It's all nice and fine to want to unlock every
tank in the game, however that's a much bigger goal than you can
possibly imagine at this point. (I'm not being flip, just saying
it how I see it)
Also, you want to make sure you have as wide range garage as
possible so that you can play with and compliment your platoon
mates. If you only have a high tier of 6 in your garage, it's
going to limit your team to only playing their tier 6's, because
a good platoon leader doesn't take a fail team into battle.
Lights are obviously the exception and it's not a fail team at
that point anyway.
It looks like you've already got the Super Pershing, so that'll
definitely help with the silvers, but I would definitely advise
you to get some other tanks leveled.

I think it would be wise to listen to the voice of reason here.
And you're all quite correct, grinding several (8-10) tier 5
tanks at the same time was perhaps not the best way to do it.
Especially because of the double XP hunting - I would play one
tank until I won a battle, move on to the next and so on. By not
playing one tank for longer than a couple of battles I did not
learn to play the tank as I should have, I think.
So, change of strategy then. Look for got-to-have-tanks in the
tank tree, three at a time tops, and work towards them. And like
previously, keep any tanks that I like along the way. Let's see
then, target tank set 1 would include Tiger, T29 and Comet.
And you're also right about the cash making premium tanks. I
have at least one for every country, but some are so low tier
(Locust, FCM 36 PaK 40) they don't make much money, nor do they
train crews that quickly. Looks like I might have to break the
piggy bank and get some higher tier premiums. FCM 50 t,
SU-122-44, perhaps Löwe...?

the FCM-50t is a great money maker ,and very mobile for a heavy.
the Lowe is also a great tank , its only drawback is that it
dosnt get pref. matchmaking. it DOES however have the lowest
premium ammo cost of any tier 8 , which makes spamming premium
rounds in this thing almost too easy ! lol

The Lowe is a cash cow, but very very slow and easy to get
killed.
The IS-6 is great for all around fun and cash making. Gun is a
bit "off" sometimes.
T95E2 is a great medium tank. Decent gun and armor. Pretty
mobile.
FCM50T is pretty decent, however I don't like French tanks, so
don't own it.
T34 seems pretty worthless in my book. Don't own it.
SU-122-44 is a fantastic tier 7 tank destroyer
JigTig 8,8 is a good gold farmer as well. Don't own it.
These tanks are all good money makers. There are some good ones
at tier 6 too, but they are only available a on special
weekends...Fury and T34-88.
I think you'll like the Tiger and T-29 lines, as they are good
ones to initiate you into higher tiers. The Comet is an
acquired taste, but good guns, mobility and gun depression are
all good things.

If you could only get one premium 8 tank, I'm sure most would
agree that it has to be the IS6. It has a good overall balance
between all attributes.
I have five tier 8 premiums and would list them as follows (Best
overall to least)
1) IS6
2) T34
3) Jg Tig 8.8cm
4) KV-5
5) 112 heavy
The best money maker is the Jg Tig. followed by the IS6.
