We have the WatchESPN app for our college football, so that's
covered :shades: We will be saving $150/month by making the
       swap.

Just to follow up for those interested, we can now stream
Netflix on 4 devices at once in HD and never miss a beat... The
Pi makes up for any current shows we want to see, and now Hulu
Plus has a commercial free option to boot. Ill never look back.
If you're like us, and have 3 kids or just lots of TVs in the
       house, its a huge savings.

Same here. Got rid of the cable about three years ago, and the
land line for the telephone about a year ago. Stream mostly
Netflix for the little time I am at home to watch tv, get my
news from the internet, and watch the occasional Doctor Who
episode online. Don't miss the expensive monthly bills for 200
channels of total crap one little bit!!

You nailed it. We have Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu Plus, and a
       Raspberry Pi. :)

I know what Rasberry Pi is, but how does that play into your set
       up?
Gratz on cutting the cord! The last time I had cable (Dish) was
when child #3 was born and she turned 5 in March. I only watched
the History and Science channels along with some football,
hockey, and rugby when I could find it, the wife watched a
couple of her female networks and the kids only watched Disney
and Nickelodeon. Of course the show the kids wanted to watch was
never on when they wanted so Netflix is awesome for us. Had the
hulu for a bit but didn't use it enough. And like Warsteiner I
finally went ahead and got the MLB package this year and so glad
I did as my Cubbies are having an epic season. I don't miss
getting ripped off by cable companies for 150 channels I
       couldn't care less about.
I would like to get better service than our 6 GB package from
Comcast though but ATT hasn't run fiber through my neighborhood
yet for some reason and the quality of connection from Comcast
is not enough for me to pay them for higher speeds.

I'm one of the few opposite I guess. Lucky enough to live in an
area with strong Comcast (thanks to previous company that had
monopoly on the area), and enough competition to make it where
we have a small channel lineup including locals + HBO (yes to
tbs/usa but no syfy or hgtv or sports aside from espn, it really
weird to me.) I could save a whole ten dollars by dropping the
channels part of our deal, might as well keep it for football
       and Walking Dead .
