We went with the 25/5 package which was very close to what we
were getting before, however, we can now stream 4 instances of
Netflix in HD at once with no issues.

We did it 3 years ago. Only thing I miss is some college
football.

same here....ive had nothing but netfilx and local stations for
2 years now. don't miss cable one bit ! and as far as sports , I
really only watch baseball , and the MLB package for a full
season is $99 , which is almost a single payment of my old dish
bill.

Thinking of doing this as well...... Between Netflix and Amazon,
we get a bunch of shows/ movies and we could always add Hulu
plus to get over the air shows.... Hell you can get HBO now
without having cable TV.

with their prices and charges skyrocketing, I just don't see
major cable providers lasting much longer in the current state
they are in. now if they would maybe let us make our own
packages , say 75 cents per channel , id go back in a heartbeat
to cable/dish. im just done paying nearly $100 just so I can
watch a few of my obscure cable channels .

With the amount of streaming sites like zona and popcorn (must
have VPN) out there I haven't used cable service for quite
awhile other than for internet itself, I hit the sports bar for
the football :superdrunk:

Yup, I've been off the teat as well and not missing that $100+
bill at all. My folks still have cable so I'm able to use their
password to get USA, History, A&E... also, you can buy the MLB
postseason for $10, which is awesome now that the Royals are
good again!
This seems like the appropriate place to throw this out there,
I've been wanting to know if anyone has the NFL Sunday Ticket??
It's like $250 but if enough of us chipped in we could get it
pretty cheap and watch any game we wanted. I live out in the
boonies so my "local" station is still 120 miles away and my
antennae needs perfect conditions to work. For some reason, I
want to watch the Chiefs stink it up for another season.
