Where were you...

... on September 11,2001...certain days of the year I realize
the sacrifices others have made or endured so that we may enjoy
the freedoms we enjoy to this day...some of those days are June
6, July 4, November 11, December 7 and of course 9/11...had the
day off from work...took the kids school, did some grocery
shopping and was heading home when the first plane hit...didn't
think too much of that, put groceries away and sat down to see
the second plane hit the tower...I don't know, just days like
today I honor those men and women and their families who went
thru this tragedy by thinking of them...with a lump in my throat
and a tear in my eye i remember...Always Remember;Never
Forget...

I was at work. Service writer at a Chevy dealership in SoCal. I
had gone to the waiting room to update a customer and it was on
the TV.

At work..... saw the headline on one of the major news
organizations web site. One of the people that lived real
close to work picked up their old "over the ai"r TV and was
glued to the news the entire day.

Lived in Rochester,NY at the time, was at work eating breakfast
when I saw them breakaway after first hit, then saw second then
talk of united 93 came over soon after, my sister was in a plane
that was heading to Pittsburgh at the time as she was going to
school at Pitt. So while family was frantic trying to figure out
which plane she was on... Many people lost their life that day
and my heart will always go out to their families.

My parents saw the first plane flying low as they drove down the
Belt Pkwy...that was odd, they thought.
After the first one hit, I went up on the roof (I work at JFK)
and from the angle I was at, it looked like the explosion on
Tower 2 was a continuation from the fire on Tower 1
(where my family had an office from 1972-1990)
I thought, what the hell are they storing up there? LNG? What
could have caused that fireball?
Walked downstairs five minutes later and heard it was a second
plane. Fucking Pearl Harbor, man...

Never forget. I was in Baltimore getting ready to leave the
hotel for a customer visit. Walked out of the bathroom right
after the news put up the feed on the first one. I thought I was
watching a movie at first. Very sad day indeed.
Ironically, I was scheduled to conduct an infrastructure
walkthrough at the Senate Building the next day. Obviously that
didn't happen.

Well said Chilli.
I was in Greenville, SC working in traveling construction. When
we heard what was going on we rushed back to the hotel to turn
on the TV - unfortunately just time to see the first tower
collapse. Then, we learned about the plane hitting the
Pentagon.....
I learned the next morning that the wife of the brother of my
brother's wife (quite a mouthful there) was one of the suspected
victims at the Pentagon since she had not returned home, called,
etc. Her remains were never recovered. She was a secretary and
she just turned 40 with two children.
Like you said, I will never forget. Nor forget the men and women
fighting to keep us safe, both home and away.
Never.

Was having breakfast at a restaurant in Racine, WI, waiting for
VSPC class to start. Heard about the first plane in the parking
lot, and they had a TV on inside, so I sat at the counter, and
saw the live coverage of the 2nd plane impact. That's when we
knew that it wan't an accident :snarl:
f'king cowards

Just got out of the shower when my wife told me what was
happening (West Coast time). Ran to see the news, just in time
to see the second plane hit the tower. By then, I knew that
this was an attack. Went to work, mad as hell. Waiting to be
activated (law enforcement). Ended up securing Deputy District
Attorney's leaving our local courthouse. Watched the rest of
the news with firemen at one of our local firehouses. Ended the
day early. Still, mad as hell. I will never forget that day.

struck, could not believe what I was seeing.
