I use to commute 70 miles/day on a Yamaha VStar 650 but kids and
wanting to enjoy my coffee in the mornings ended all that.

Had a Yamaha Enduro 185 after I left the service...what a fun
little go-anywhere bike.
Got rid of it soon after having a close call with an armadillo
one night :shocked:

Try explaining that one to family,friends or insurer. I was
riding along and suddenly this armadillo charged me head on.
i just have to deal with idiot car drivers. learning to ride all
over again after years of gixsers, Sv's and Hayabusa's. Now
riding humble Boulevard M50.

Got a 06 suzuki DRZ 650 4 stroker in mah shed. Not the DR but a
DRZ. It literally flies i shit you not. Its an indoor stadium
trick bike. But Im not trickn anymore, But Im still moderatly
flying 25 footers in the sand-dunes behind my property. Very
nice old sand and gravel pit with 130 foot high vertical sides
at 75% grade. 60X60 Dunes through-out the pit.Plenty of
air-time. Also where i pheasant and quail hunt and run my dogs
during rabbit season.

@ bigboldc...not uncommon in Texas. Saw a car one night coming
towards me (same road) with a wobbly headlight. About a 1/2 mile
further on there was an armadillo in the middle of the road
doing the Curly Shuffle. Took out my Ruger .22mag and put one in
his head.
When an armadillo is scared or frightened, sometimes they'll
jump straight up. Friend of mine was clearing land and took a
whack at one with a machete...he needed 11 stitches on his
forehead...armadillo lived for a couple days, then died.
