What gives?

The last two nights all my Tier 8 battles (I have for tanks) are
getting Tier 10 draws. I don't mind this as an every once in a
while thing. But literally 27 battles were all tier 10. I will
never get to the nine at this rate.

Most of my tier VII matches have been IXs as well. About to pull
the plug on the T20 and stay at IV-VI :coin:

Its only gut feel at this stage but it does seem like i am
always getting high tier matches too. On the USA servers though.
I switched to Europe yesterday and suddenly my tier V tanks are
seeing tier V's again. It was refreshing as over the last couple
of times all my tier V and VI's have been running against tier
VII's and VIII's

I'm getting the same thing in my Jumbo Sherman... I shutter
every time I run it now...

I've been getting up-tiered more than usual for about a week and
a half. I'd say I'm top tier about 25% of the time.

After 11 months of running Belorussian conspiracy theories
through my head and trying to beat the system I am now a firm
believer in the RNG.
If you flip a coin 100 times, you will end up with about a 50-50
split of heads/tails. If a few million people flip a coin 100
times, someone will get 50 heads then 50 tails, someone will get
an even head-tail-head-tail run, and someone will get 100 heads
in a row.
I've been low tier for 3 weeks (80%+), but 2 days ago i started
being top tier (80%+).
Sometimes you bounce a shot now and then, other times you bounce
shots for the entire game with a t95, on a chaffee too!! I
believe this game requires a broad look at any stats, try to
look at trends over a month time frame. There's so many
variables that a proper 'sample size' is huge, and that's what's
needed to see what may or may not be going on.
And, the top level goal is to keep you just angry enough to
spend money on gold but not so angry you quit playing ;)

I actually wanted to start running a long-term tally of Tier and
map just to see how the RNG is working. It does seem like in my
T32 I get Tier IX/X more often than 2/3rds of the time, but that
may just be confirmation bias.

I wouldn't say it's random as I remember reading somewhere that
they run an algorithm that looks at how well (or badly) you're
performing and then lower or raise your tiering.

That is interesting. So they want to keep you at the mediocre
range? Prior to these last few days I had been rolling pretty
well with those tanks. I even posted about an awesome match i
had in my T32.

They also posted a video from WG-Belarus that says there is
nothing in matchmaking except tier matching, win rate,
equipment, gold shells, etc. all have nothing to do with it.
This is the nature of the game, misinformation.
Put a notepad on your coffee table and track things accurately
for a couple of months is all we can do. Tier 9 and 10 are
excluded because they get a 1.2 coefficient (whatever than
means) vs tiers 1-8 having a coefficient of 1, so they do try to
make 9-10 matches more often 9-10 than not (20% greater chance).
